# Understand the $149 hold during a free trial

> Explains the temporary $149 authorization hold placed on your card during a Kajabi free trial.

When you sign up for a free trial on Kajabi, a \$149 **authorization hold** is placed on your card to validate your payment method. This hold confirms that the card works as expected and helps prevent fraudulent payment methods from being used.

This is not a charge; the hold will be immediately reversed when the validation on the card succeeds.

If the card is found invalid or has insufficient funds, the Kajabi account will not be created. You will need to use a valid form of payment with sufficient funds to create your Kajabi account.
