# Check out as a guest through PayPal
> Learn when customers can use PayPal guest checkout versus when they need a PayPal account.
**PayPal** offers guest checkout options for certain payment types, allowing your customers to pay without logging into a PayPal account. This flexibility depends on the type of Offer you're selling.
## Guest checkout for one-time payments
If the Offer is a [one-time payment](../../sales/offers/how-to-create-a-one-time-payment-offer), your customers can checkout as a guest with PayPal. They will be redirected to the PayPal pop-up where they have the option to click **Pay with Debit or Credit Card** to check out as a guest:
## Account required for recurring payments
If the Offer is a [payment plan](../../sales/offers/create-a-payment-plan-offer) or [recurring subscription](../../sales/offers/how-to-create-a-subscription-offer), your customers will be prompted to log into their account or create an account to checkout with PayPal:
