# Add an Assessment to a Course
> Attach an Assessment to a Course Lesson to create tests and surveys within Products.
Only one Assessment can be attached to each Course Lesson.
**Note:**
The Assessment feature inside of Courses has been sunset. This feature may still appear in older accounts. The [Quizzes](../../products/courses/course-quizzes) feature is available inside of Courses and offers advanced functionality. Assessments can still be added to Web Pages.
**Note:**
Course Lessons can include either a Video or an Assessment, not both. To add a Video to a Course Lesson, create a Lesson or select an existing Lesson and add your Video. Read [Upload videos to Course Product Lessons](../../products/courses/uploading-videos-to-your-course-product-lessons) for more details.
## Create an Assessment
To create an Assessment:
1. Open the **Contacts** tab from the Dashboard.
2. Select **Assessments**.
3. Click **+ New Assessment**.
4. Choose a title, description, and if you would like Kajabi to grade the Assessment.
5. Click **Save** to begin customizing the Assessment:

## Add the Assessment to a Course Lesson
**Note:**
If you do not see an Assessment appear when attempting to attach it, you may first need to create an Assessment or duplicate an existing Assessment to use in another Course Lesson. Read [Duplicate an Assessment](../../contacts/create-manage-and-share-assessments/how-to-duplicate-your-assessment) for details.
To add an Assessment to a Course Lesson:
1. Open the **Products** tab from the Dashboard.
2. Select the **Course** you wish to edit or [create one.](../../products/courses/courses-overview)
3. Click the **Lesson** you wish to add the Assessment to or [create a Lesson](../../products/courses/create-a-lesson).
4. In the **Media** section select **Assessment**.
5. In the dropdown menu, select an Assessment or create one.
6. Click **Save** to keep your changes:
**Note:**
Assessments can only be added to Lessons within Courses. Quizzes can be added at the Module level. Don't see Assessments in your account? That's ok! It means you have the latest version of Kajabi, and can use Quizzes in place of Assessments. Learn how to [create and customize Quizzes](../../products/courses/course-quizzes).
