# Check for duplicate contacts

> Search the Contacts tab by name to identify contacts with multiple email addresses.

## Duplicate contacts

Kajabi prevents the creation of duplicate contacts to help you keep an organized list.

With Kajabi, email addresses are used to identify your contact. As long as contacts use the same email address when purchasing an Offer and/or submitting a Form their information will be housed within one contact account in your Contacts tab.

However, if a contact uses different emails to purchase an Offer and/or submit a Form or has been added to your Contacts tab manually with a different email address, they may have multiple contact records on your site.

If this is the case, you can search your Contacts tab by name to check if you have contacts that have subscribed or purchased with multiple email addresses.

## Search contacts by name

To search contacts by name:

1. Open the **Contacts** tab from the Dashboard.
2. Place your cursor in the search bar.
3. Enter the **name** of your contact.
4. Click **Enter** to apply:
