# Add and customize an Image and Text section in Email Campaigns

> Combine an Image and Text section to visually showcase content to your audience.

Use a combined **Image and Text Section** to create a simplistic approach to show and tell your story to your audience.

## Add an Image and Text section

### Add the section to an email

* Open your Email Campaign.
* Click **Launch Email Editor**.
* In the sidebar, click **Add Section**.
* Select **Image and Text**.
* Then, click **Add**.
* The Image and Text Section will generate at the bottom of the page.
* Upload an Image to the Section in the sidebar and add Text to the Text Block.
* Click **Save** to keep your changes:

## Customize the Image and Text section

### Image

**Upload your Image and assign an action** when your Image is clicked.

<Tip>
  **Tip:** Don't want a clickable Image? Leave the Image 1 Action Text Box blank to keep your Image un-clickable.

**Add an Image Alt Attribute**

Enter a brief Image description to identify the Image for SEO purposes or if the image cannot be displayed.

### Text

Communicate your message with the Text Section of your Email Campaign.

Customize the look and feel of the text by configuring the Text Box features.

These features include:

* Customize the appearance of the Text style.
* Change the color of the Text or certain parts of the Text to highlight your message.
* Adjust the alignment for an engaging visual experience.
* Create ordered and unordered lists to organize your content.
* Personalize your email with liquid tags to bring warmth to your communication and optimize your email deliverability.

Additionally, customize your Image and Text Section by:

* Checking or unchecking **Image on the Left** to choose whether the Image or the Text is on the left side when viewed on a desktop device.
* Configuring the vertical alignment within the Section for your Image and Text.

  **Note:** Checking or unchecking **Image on the left** will not impact the vertical arrangement of your Image and Text Section when viewed on a mobile device. However, you can check **Image on Top** in the Mobile Layout of Section Settings to rearrange the vertical sequence when viewed on mobile.

## Section settings

**Appearance** allows you to configure the background color of the Section.

**Desktop Layout** adjusts the look and feel of the content contained in the Section when viewed on a desktop device.

This includes:

* Hiding the Section.
* Adjusting the padding for the spacing of the content within the Section.
* Configuring the **Gutter Width** to adjust the spacing between the Image and Text.

**Mobile Layout** adjusts the look and feel of the content contained in the Section when viewed on a mobile device.

This includes:

* Hiding the Section.
* Adjusting the padding for the spacing of the content within the Section.
* Configuring the **Gutter Height** to customize the spacing between the Image and Text.
* Checking **Image on Top** to choose whether the Image or the Text is on top when viewed on a mobile device.
