# Test send emails

> Send test emails to yourself to review and edit email campaigns before sending them to recipients.

**Email campaigns** are crucial for communicating with your contacts. Sending test emails to yourself allows you to review and edit email campaigns before sending them to your list.

## Preview email

Previewing your email campaign can provide you with a quick sneak peek as to the look and feel of your campaign.

However, we highly recommend testing your email campaign to get the most accurate feel for the delivery and appearance of your emails when your contacts subscribe to your list.

  **Note:** Sending a preview email from your admin account may not include all personalized content such as event names, dates, times, and locations. Additionally, various links may be inactive including the "View in Web Browser" link when previewing your email from your account. Skip to [Test Email](#test-email) to ensure that your email contains your desired content.

1. Open the **Marketing** tab from the Dashboard.
2. Click **Email Campaigns.**
3. Navigate to the top right corner and click **+ New Email Campaign**.
4. Select **Email Broadcast** or **Email Sequence**.

### Email Broadcast

If you selected Email Broadcast:

1. Enter your Internal Title in the text box and click **Save**.
2. Select the **Visual Editor** to create a custom email that aligns with your brand.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Follow the prompts to Edit Recipients and Edit Content.
5. After customizing your email broadcast, click **Send Test Email**.
6. Confirm the email address you would like your test email to be sent to or enter your desired test email address.
7. Click **Send Preview**.

8. Log into your email inbox and check your test email.

### Email Sequence

If you selected Email Sequence:

1. Enter your Internal Title in the text box and click **Continue**.
2. Choose your email template and click **Get started**.
3. Enter your Title and click **Create**.
4. After customizing the first email in your Email Sequence click **Save**.
5. Click **Send test email**.
6. Confirm the email address you would like your test email to be sent to or enter the correct email address.
7. Click **Send Preview**.

## Test email

<Note>
  **Note:** If your email recipients are subscribed to your email campaigns through different methods (such as automations you set up with the completion of courses, offers purchased, and more) simply follow the steps your visitors will experience leading up to receiving your emails.

For this example, test your email for those submitting a form to subscribe to your list:

1. Open the **Website** tab from the Dashboard.
2. Click the **Page** containing your opt-in form to subscribe your visitors to your email campaign.
3. Open the `…` menu to the right of your page title.
4. Select **Copy URL** to copy the link for the page containing your opt-in form.

5. Open an incognito window in Chrome or a Private window in Safari or clear your cache and cookies.
6. Paste your page link into the address bar.
7. Enter a different email address to complete your opt-in form.

<Tip>
  **Tip:** Enter your email address with a "+" symbol after the first portion of your email address. Example: [johndoe@gmail.com](mailto:johndoe@gmail.com) would be [johndoe+test@gmail.com](mailto:johndoe+test@gmail.com). This will send your email to your normal email inbox without creating an entirely new email account.

8. Navigate to your email inbox and take a look at your tested email.

<Tip>
  **Tip:** Don't see your test email in your inbox? Make sure that the email address you're using for your test is subscribed (i.e. opted in) to your email list. Unsubscribed email accounts will not receive marketing emails. If you're using a double opt-in, make sure you've clicked the link to confirm your email as the second opt-in step.
