# Manual vs. automatic updates in the Branded App

> Identify which Branded Mobile App features update automatically and which require manual updates.

Some features in the **Branded Mobile App** are automatically updated, while others require a manual update. Understanding the difference helps you plan when changes will take effect.

## Automatically updated

These features are automatically updated and do not require a manual update:

* **All course content** including courses and added modules/lessons/quizzes
* **All community content** including circles, meetups, challenges, and custom pages
* All [customizations](./how-to-customize-your-branded-app) made in the **Branded App Design** tab including welcome screen, onboarding carousel, home page, and custom links
* Any [**in-app offers**](./how-to-create-app-offers-for-your-branded-app) created after the first one has been approved by Apple

## Requires a manual update

These updates require a manual app update to process the changes:

* Changes to [**Brand Assets**](./how-to-update-your-branded-app-brand-assets-or-terms-privacy-links) including app name, app icon, app logo, and app accent color
* Changes to the **App store page** including [App Store Description](./how-to-write-and-update-your-app-store-description-for-your-branded-mobile-app) and [Screenshots](./how-to-update-your-branded-app-screenshots)
* [Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links](./how-to-update-your-branded-app-brand-assets-or-terms-privacy-links)
