# Update the target API level for a Branded App

> Meet Google's target API level requirements for an Android Branded App.

If you are receiving the notification that you need to update the **target API level**, Google has identified that the app is targeting an old version of Android:

Google requires all apps to meet the most up-to-date target API level requirements.

## Update the app

Make sure there are no outstanding requirements from Google in the Developer Console in the **App Content** section after clicking into the app:
