# Video formats supported by Kajabi

> Kajabi supports many common video formats, with MP4 recommended for best performance.

Kajabi can encode and display many common **video formats** (see the list below), but for the most consistent performance, we recommend uploading files in the **MP4 format**.

## Recommended settings

  **Note:**
  The maximum file size for video uploads is 4GB. If your video file size is larger than 4GB use a video file compression tool such as **[Handbrake](../../website/pages/how-to-compress-a-video-file-using-handbrake)**.

For best performance, we recommend you aim to have your videos fall within these guidelines:

* **Resolution**: between 640px and 3840px (4K) wide
* **Bitrate**: 5,000 - 10,000 kbps
* **Aspect ratio**: 16:9 (i.e., 1080px x 1920px)

We recommend adhering to **1080p** and **5,000 - 10,000 kbps** as the max settings for upload, as it will reduce the likeliness of upload errors.
