## Product terms

### Products

**Products** are a digital service that can be delivered online. A product is most commonly a course, a membership, a community, a resource center, or a webinar replay. Read [Create a Product](/articles/products/courses/courses-overview) for details.

**Membership** is a Product where you can add content on a pre-agreed basis where customers pay you a recurring fee in exchange for access to your membership content. Read [Create a Product](/articles/products/courses/courses-overview) for details.

**Community** is where your customers can virtually connect and discuss mediated and unmediated topics. A Kajabi **Community**, like a Facebook group, allows you to add customers to interact with one another. As the administrator, you can build an interactive and engaging space with your customers. Create topics, organize groups of people, and assign access to your Community members. [Learn more about Kajabi Communities](/articles/products/community/build-kajabi-communities).

**Template** is a pre-built template with a product outline already created as a guide. While templates are pre-built, you can edit them in any way you see fit. You can add modules, lessons, and assessments as needed. The template acts as a guide.

Read [Create a Product](/articles/products/courses/courses-overview) for details on different Product Templates, creating your Product, and Memberships and Communities in Kajabi.

**Product Outline** is where you can organize and add content to your Product. Read [View a Product Outline](/articles/products/courses/how-to-view-your-course-outline) for details.

**Lesson** is the home for each individual piece of your content. A lesson is where you can add your videos, text, downloadable files, automations, and an image. The lessons are the individual sections within a certain module. Read [Create a Product Lesson](/articles/products/courses/create-a-lesson) for details.

**Quiz** allows you to test your Course customers' learning at any point in your Course using a variety of different question types. Learn more about [Quizzes in Kajabi](/articles/products/courses/course-quizzes).

**Product Preview** is the view of your Product your customers will see. Read [Preview a Product](/articles/products/courses/how-to-preview-your-product) for details.

**Drip** allows you to release modules of content X number of days after your customer has purchased your Offer. When adding in Drip days, add onto the original number. For example, 7, 14, 21 days for dripped modules. Read [Use Drip content to release Product Lessons over time](/articles/products/courses/schedule-and-drip-content-in-courses) for details.

**Lock** is a release option that allows your content to be released after your customer has completed your specified lesson. Read [Lock content from a Course Outline](/articles/products/courses/lock-content-in-your-course-product) for details.

**Draft** is a release feature that allows you to hide your content from your customers as you build the lesson in your Product. Read [Create a Product Lesson](/articles/products/courses/create-a-lesson) for details on lesson states and visibility.

### Offers

**Offer** is the price tag and the vehicle for delivering your Product. This means having the ability to provide your customers with different payment options for services and products you provide. Read [Create an Offer](/articles/sales/offers/create-an-offer) for details.

**Upsell** is a feature to encourage an additional sale. An Upsell presents an additional purchase opportunity after checkout. Upsell pages are built using the same Builder as your site and checkout pages and can be reused across multiple Offers. If they choose to purchase the Upsell Offer, it is processed as a separate transaction from the original Offer purchase. Read [Add and edit an Upsell](/articles/sales/offers/upsells-overview) for details.

**Order Bump** can be used as a way to advertise another offer directly from the checkout page. A customer goes through the checkout sequence and sees a simple option to add another Offer to their checkout right below the payment information. If you wish to include an Order Bump, when writing the description, keep in mind that it should refer to the Offer getting bumped. Read [Add an Order Bump](/articles/sales/checkout/how-to-add-an-order-bump-to-your-offer) for details.

**Single Use Coupon** is a single coupon that can be used for launches or special deals. This is where you can create a code like `BLACKFRIDAY` and every time this code is entered there is a percent off (example: 20% off) discount applied. Read [Create a Coupon](/articles/sales/coupons/how-to-create-a-coupon) for details.

**Bulk Coupon Code** is for when you want to provide a limited amount of coupons with unique links and upload them to a site like Groupon. Read [Generate Coupon Codes in bulk](/articles/sales/coupons/creating-coupon-codes-in-bulk) for details.

**Product Access** allows the customers that purchase your Offer to gain access to the Product(s) included with the Offer on your specified day within the Product Access option. Read [Give access to a Product on a specific date](/articles/sales/offers/how-to-give-access-to-your-product-on-a-specific-date) for details.

**Restrict Access** removes your customer from the Product(s) after your specified number of days. This means your customer no longer has access to the Product(s) of your Offer from their Library. Read [Restrict Product access to a specific number of days](/articles/sales/offers/how-to-restrict-product-access-to-a-specific-amount-of-days) for details.

## Website terms

### Design

**Design** is a section of the Website tab where you can design your Library, Store, Login, Static, Thank You, and Blog Pages along with your Pages containing your Blog Posts and Blog Search bar.

**Template Home** is the homepage that your settings are defaulted to when you create your Kajabi account. When visitors enter your URL in their browser, this is the page that appears if you have not changed your settings in your Site Details. Read [Build a Homepage](/articles/website/pages/how-to-build-your-custom-homepage) for details.

**Navigation** is where you add specific links that you want your visitors to access in the header of your site. The links in this navigation can include links on Kajabi and from other site pages. It can be any link you can copy and paste into your Navigation menu. Keep in mind, most of the time when creating your navigation menu, select **link** as the option. Read [Add a menu to your page header](/articles/website/pages/how-to-add-a-menu-to-your-page-header) for details.

**Manage Templates** allows you to select from a variety of different templates that carry through your Design tab Pages. Read [Customize a Website Template](/articles/website/pages/how-to-upload-a-new-website-template) for details.

### Page Builder

**Pages** allow you to build individual landing pages to direct traffic. Your Pages can be used as opt-in pages, homepages, video players, and more. The various templates allow you to create different pages for different purposes with ease. Read [Create a Page](/articles/website/pages/how-to-add-pages-to-your-website) for details.

**Standalone Pages** are not attached to any marketing funnel flows.

**Funnel Pages** in the Pages tab are folders containing all of the Pages that exist in your funnel(s).

### Blog

**Blog Posts** are articles or videos that make up the content on your blog. Read [Customize a Blog](/articles/website/pages/how-to-design-your-blog-homepage) to edit and customize all of your blog pages and blog post layouts.

## Marketing terms

### Funnels

**Funnels** bring marketing and sales together through the power of Automations. A funnel drives traffic to your opt-in page to capture lead information and send follow-up information to ultimately convert leads into paying customers.

**Legacy Funnels** are used more for the purpose of offer conversion, rather than lead generation and offer conversion.

### Email Campaigns

**Email Broadcast** is one email sent out. This is most commonly used as an announcement or newsletter email. Read about [Email Broadcasts](/articles/marketing/email-campaigns/email-campaigns-overview#email-broadcast) in Kajabi to learn more.

**Email Sequence** is an email or a list of emails that can be sent out after a trigger has been completed on your site. Read about [Email Sequences](/articles/marketing/email-campaigns/email-campaigns-overview#email-sequence) in Kajabi to learn more.

**Email Stat: Bounced** is when an email to a recipient fails, usually due to the recipient's email not existing.

**Email Stat: Clicked** is when your email recipient clicks any of the links included in your email.

**Email Stat: Opened** emails occur when an email campaign has been delivered and viewed by the recipient.

Read [Email Metrics overview](/articles/marketing/email-campaigns/email-metrics-overview) for more details.

### Types of emails

**Marketing Emails** are emails sent to your email list subscribers. These emails include Email Broadcasts, Email Sequences, and Event Emails. If they are not subscribed and have not approved to be sent marketing emails, they will not receive these types of emails. Read the [Email Campaigns overview](/articles/marketing/email-campaigns/email-campaigns-overview) to learn more.

**System Generated Emails** are emails sent regardless of whether or not your users are subscribed to marketing emails, as they alert them that an action has occurred within the app such as a purchase confirmed, Product access granted, and more. Read [Edit the automated emails sent by a site](/articles/account-settings/notifications/edit-automated-email-notifications) for details.

**Event Emails** have the same permissions as Marketing emails. Event emails are sent on a time-specific schedule before, during, and after your event. Read [Create an Event](/articles/marketing/events/how-to-create-an-event) for details.

Read [Understanding the difference between Marketing and Transactional emails](/articles/marketing/email-campaigns/what-are-marketing-and-transactional-emails) for further detail.

### Automations

**"When" Trigger** is the signal that fires off an action when triggered.

**"Then" Trigger** is the action that occurs after the "When" trigger has fired.

**Condition** is an additional "only if" condition in the Automations infrastructure to allow you to filter your automation. For instance, say you want to add a tag to all users who have submitted a specific Form, but only if they answered a specific question on that Form with a specific answer. Read about [Automations](/articles/marketing/automations/automations-overview) in Kajabi to learn more.

### Events

**Events** in Kajabi represent a date and time that can be surrounded by emails and automated actions. People can be registered to an Event by completing a Form, purchasing a Product, and many other Automations. This feature gives you the option to create marketing campaigns based on a time instead of explicitly creating marketing campaigns based on sign-up or purchase dates. Read [Create an Event](/articles/marketing/events/how-to-create-an-event) for details.

### Forms

**Double Opt-In** is a feature for your Forms. The Double Opt-In automatically sends a confirmation email to the address inputted on the Form. This email prompts your subscriber to confirm that they would like to be added to your list and receive your marketing emails. By using a Double Opt-In, you can improve the quality of leads you are receiving. When a lead confirms they want to remain a contact on your list, it shows they are interested in your business and have a higher likelihood of becoming a customer. Making a Double Opt-In a requirement also reduces the chances of your marketing emails being flagged as spam. Read [Set up a Form with a Double Opt-In](/articles/marketing/forms/how-to-set-up-a-form-with-double-opt-in) for details.

## Contacts terms

### All Contacts

**Subscriber** is a contact (name and email) who has signed up to receive marketing emails. This can be done by agreeing to receive marketing emails when purchasing an Offer or by submitting a Form to be subscribed to your list.

**Customers** are anyone who has purchased or has been granted access to an Offer. Customers have a blue checkmark icon on their avatar when scrolling through the All Contacts tab.

**Tags** allow you to separate your list to easily target specific groups of contacts and perform a variety of actions such as setting up Automations with a Tag and sending Emails to specific contacts with your specified Tag(s).

**Lifecycle** shows the amount of time a contact has been added as well as the transactions and interactions that have taken place since the contact joined your list or purchased an Offer.

**Grant Offer** is an option to provide access to a Product and bypass needing payment. Read [Grant an Offer](/articles/sales/offers/how-to-grant-an-offer) for more details. Granting an Offer sends a system-generated email, the Offer Grant Email. Read [Edit the automated emails sent by a site](/articles/account-settings/notifications/edit-automated-email-notifications) for details on editing your system-generated email.

### Assessments

**Assessment** is a test or a survey that allows you to gather information from your customers before, during, or after the course is complete. Read [Assessments in Kajabi](/articles/contacts/create-manage-and-share-assessments/create-and-customize-assessments) for details.

### Affiliates

**Affiliates** consist of people selling/marketing your course on your behalf while receiving a commission from you in the process. This is a scalable way to maximize revenue. Read the [Affiliate overview](/articles/sales/affiliates/affiliates-overview) for details.

## Settings terms

**Payment Integrations** are where you can connect Stripe and/or PayPal to your site. Read [Connect Stripe to Kajabi](/articles/api-integrations/payment-integrations/connect-stripe-to-kajabi) and [Connect PayPal to Kajabi](/articles/api-integrations/payment-integrations/connect-paypal-to-kajabi) for details.

**Email Templates** are system-generated emails that get sent out when something happens within your Kajabi account. Review these templates and make any changes you wish to fit your brand and language. Read [Edit the automated emails sent by a site](/articles/account-settings/notifications/edit-automated-email-notifications) for details.

**Domain** is the address for your website such as `example.com`. Domains can be registered from domain registrars such as GoDaddy or Google Domains and connected to your Kajabi site to replace the default Kajabi subdomain given to you. Learn to [purchase a domain](/articles/website/domains/how-to-purchase-a-domain-name) for more details.

Want to connect your custom domain? Learn to [connect a custom domain](https://help.kajabi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036668374) to Kajabi.

**Subdomain** is the beginning portion of your website address such as [www.example.com](http://www.example.com) or courses.example.com ("www" and "courses" are the subdomains). Kajabi provides you with a default Kajabi subdomain for your site to help you get started.

**Account Users** come with different permissions depending on their Admin Roles. Read [Add Admin Users for a site](/articles/account-settings/users/account-users) for details.
