Course lessons

Each course can be made up of lessons and quizzes. Each lesson can include:

  • Media (video, audio)

  • Assessments (older accounts only)

  • Written content

  • Downloadable files


Create a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Click Add content next to the module or submodule you'd like this to be in.

  • Choose Lesson.

  • Enter a title and click Create Lesson.


Edit a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open the lesson you wish to edit.

  • You can edit the following sections of your lesson:

    • Lesson Details

    • Media

    • Downloads

    • Automations

    • Status

    • Lesson Thumbnail

    • Comments

  • Click Save.


Lesson details

Title

You can edit the lesson title that will be displayed to your customers.

Select module

Choose which module this lesson will live in.

Media

Optionally, you can include video, audio, or an assessment in your lesson.

If you prefer to not have any media, you can click None.

Note:

The Assessment feature inside of courses has been sunset. This feature may still appear in older accounts. We recommend you use quizzes inside your courses. Assessments can still be added to pages.

Content

Below the media section, you'll see a text editor.

Here you can add written content and screenshots for your lesson.

Downloads

You can add files that customers can download. These could be resources like worksheets, templates, or lesson notes. These will be appear in the Downloads section of your lesson.

Add a file

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open a lesson.

  • In the Downloads section, click Add Files.

  • Upload a file.

Rename a file

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open a lesson.

  • In the Downloads section, click the pencil icon.

  • Edit the display name.

  • Click Save.

Download a file

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open a lesson.

  • In the Downloads section, click the download icon.

Delete a file

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open a lesson.

  • In the Downloads section, click the X icon.

  • Click Delete.


Automations

Automations can be a powerful tool to automate processes within your site. Learn more about Course automations.


Set the status for a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open a lesson.

  • In the Status section, select a status:

    • Draft: Hidden from customers

    • Published: Visible to customers

Note:

You can't drip or lock lessons. As a workaround, you could create a module with just one lesson, and set the drip or lock status on the module.


Lesson thumbnail

Depending on your course template, this image may be displayed to your customers.


Comments

You can set the comment visibility for your lesson. There are 3 options:

  • Visible

  • Hidden

  • Locked

Visible

Customers can view and add comments to your lesson.

Hidden

Customers will not be able to view or add comments.

Locked

Customers can view existing comments but won't be able to add new comments.

Note:

If you wish to disable comments for all lessons, go to Settings in your course and see the Comment Settings section.


Import a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Click Add content next to the module or submodule you'd like this to be in.

  • Choose Import from another course.

  • Choose the course, module, and lesson.

    • You can also import a lesson from the same course.

  • Click Import.

  • Click Got it.


Move a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • In your course outline, move your mouse over over the lesson you want to move.

  • Click and drag it to move it to the desired position or module.


Preview a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open the lesson you wish to preview.

  • Click Preview.


Delete a lesson

  • Go to Products > Courses and click on your course.

  • Open the lesson you wish to delete.

  • Click Delete Lesson.
