Kajabi Payments 1099-K Tax Forms

What is a 1099-K?

A 1099-K form is a US tax document that summarizes the sales activity of your account during the calendar year.

This form is:

  • Provided to the Kajabi Payments account owner or representative of the account

  • Submitted to the IRS

  • Submitted to certain U.S. states, depending on filing requirements

Important:

The 1099-K is for reporting purposes only. Kajabi does not calculate your tax liability. For guidance on how to use this form when filing, consult a qualified tax professional.


Who receives a 1099-K?

You will receive a Kajabi Payments 1099-K if all of the following apply:

  • Your account is based in the United States (or you are a non-U.S. user filing as a U.S. taxpayer)

  • You processed more than $20,000 USD

  • You completed more than 200 transactions

  • You are the Owner or Sub-owner of the site

If you manage multiple sites, confirm you are logged into the correct site before checking your documents.


When are 1099-K forms available?

If you qualify, your 1099-K will be available by January 31 for the previous tax year.

You will be notified when the form is ready:

  • In-app via a banner notification

  • By email (if notifications are enabled)


How you’ll be notified

When your 1099-K is ready, a banner appears across key pages in your dashboard.

Selecting View on the banner:

  • Takes you directly to Settings → Documents

  • Dismisses all active banners


Turn on optional email notifications

Enable email alerts to receive a reminder when your form is available.

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications & privacy

  2. Under Kajabi Payments, enable
    Notify me when Form 1099-K is available

  3. Confirm your profile email address is correct

When your form is generated, you’ll receive an email with a direct link to the Documents page.


How to download your 1099-K

  1. From your dashboard, select Settings

  2. Click Documents

  3. Ensure the correct site is selected from the dropdown

  4. Locate Form 1099-K for the year you need

  5. Select Download

  6. Save the file in a secure location

Tips:

  • Confirm you are downloading the correct tax year

  • If you file in multiple jurisdictions, consult your tax advisor regarding retention requirements


What’s included on the 1099-K?

Your 1099-K reports your total gross payment volume, including:

  • Customer payments

  • Taxes

  • Shipping fees

  • Refunds

  • Adjustments

  • Processing and currency conversion fees

These amounts are not deducted from the total.

Kajabi is required to report gross volume and cannot modify reported totals.


Troubleshooting

You don’t see the Documents page

  • Confirm Kajabi Payments is enabled

  • Verify you are signed in as Owner or Sub-owner

  • If you manage multiple sites, switch to the correct site

You see Documents, but no 1099-K

  • Forms only appear once they are generated

  • Before January 31? Check back later

  • After January 31? Confirm you met the IRS threshold

    • Over $20,000 and

    • More than 200 transactions

Can collaborators download my 1099-K?

No. Only Owners and Sub-owners can access tax documents.

Is this available without Kajabi Payments?

No. 1099-K forms are only generated for Kajabi Payments accounts.

Will I receive a mailed copy?

Your primary delivery method is in-app download.

If your jurisdiction requires mail delivery, follow any additional instructions you receive.

How do I update my tax information?

Update your legal and tax details in:

  • Kajabi Payments onboarding, or

  • Payouts settings

Changes apply to future filings only.


Privacy and security

Your 1099-K contains sensitive tax information.

Best practices:

  • Download only on secure devices

  • Limit access to authorized users

  • Store files in encrypted or protected locations
