Why am I being asked to provide data safety information?
Your customers need to know how you’ll handle their personal data prior to downloading your app. All app providers are required to provide this information when submitting their app for publication.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to upload a CSV file to Google Play Console to submit your Android data safety information.
Import your data safety information
Download a CSV file of data using the link provided in this guide and then upload the file on the Data safety page in Google Play Console.
To download your CSV file:
- First, click here to open the CSV file in a new browser tab: Data Types CSV File
- Click the Download icon at the top right of the CSV preview screen.
The CSV file will download to your computer locally.
To import your CSV file:
- On your Google Play dashboard, expand the tasks under “Set up your app.”
Or, navigate to “Policy and programs” > “App content” in the left menu. - Select Data safety.
- An overview tutorial will appear in a popup modal.
Click Next at each prompt, then click Start to exit the overview. - On the "Data safety" page, click Import from CSV at the top right:
- Upload your CSV file and click Save.
- Press Next each time you’re prompted until you see the final confirmation page:
- Confirm that all of your information is correct, then click Save:
Return to your Google Play dashboard to continue the next steps of your app intake.
