Newsletters Overview

Learn to leverage Newsletters on Kajabi to build your list, grow your audience, and curate your brand.

In this article:

What is a newsletter?

Newsletters can help you jumpstart your business growth by reclaiming control of your content and audience.

Take back ownership of your audience and business from open social media platforms while utilizing an early monetization tool as a writer with newsletters.

How? Think of a newsletter as the evolved, digital version of a magazine or newspaper subscription.

With a magazine or newspaper subscription, readers can come across the content in any number of ways (dental office, hospital waiting room, etc.). From there, a piece of content may catch their eye and lead them to subscribing to the newspaper or magazine to have it delivered directly to their home for easy consumption.

By gaining subscribers, a newspaper or magazine company can gain traction in their audience-building to widen their reach and influence.

In the same way, a newsletter can be discovered through your low-level marketing efforts (this is where social media can be helpful) and result in new subscribers.

By gaining subscribers to your newsletter, you can take ownership over your audience off of social media’s control and increase your reach and influence with the value in your written content.

The next step in leveraging your growing audience is to monetize your content. Just as magazines use ads and other value-driven strategies for monetizing their content, you can do the same with your newsletter.

Tip:
Maximize your existing content by promoting your existing Offers in your Newsletter.

Newsletter vs. Newsletter Posts

With Kajabi, a Newsletter is like a magazine brand with Newsletter Posts that are released on your determined publishing schedule (like magazines published on a weekly or monthly basis).

Your Newsletter will contain all of your Newsletter Posts:

If your newsletter readers are engaged and find value in your content, they can subscribe to be notified and receive your newsletter posts as soon as you publish.

What will my newsletter readers see?

Use your newsletter as a tool to build your list and kickstart your business by making your newsletter your website homepage. Learn to change your homepage

This will bring your website visitors directly to your newsletter to create a frictionless visitor experience. From there, your visitors can consume your content and subscribe directly from your newsletter page:

Newsletter Forms

What happens when a visitor clicks the "Subscribe" button on your Newsletter? The subscribe button opens your Newsletter Form:

Your Newsletter Form is designed to capture and collect the information of your visitors wanting to receive and access your Newsletter on a regular, consistent basis.

Update and edit your Newsletter Form by visiting your Form Builder in Kajabi. Your Newsletter Form will share the same name as your Newsletter to help you locate it in the Forms tab:

Capturing subscribers

After your visitor clicks the Subscribe button, they will receive a verification email (i.e., a Double Opt-in confirmation email) to confirm their desire to subscribe. After confirming, they will be redirected back into the newsletter post they were viewing when they subscribed.

After your subscribers verify their email address, Kajabi will capture your subscribers email address and add your new subscriber to your Contacts tab

Note:
Double Opt-in is set up by default to ensure that your subscribers will receive your newsletter and strengthen your sender reputation. Learn more about Double Opt-in.

If you are on a compatible encore website theme, you will need to upgrade to version 1.5.0 by clicking the link on your newsletter product page.

If you are not on an encore theme, your newsletter pages will inherit your site theme settings, but you will not be able to add the additional pages to the builder.
