How to Set Up a Merchant Account for Google In-App Purchases
Before creating an in-app purchase offer for the Android version of your Branded App, you’ll need to set up a Merchant account with Google and provide your banking and tax information.
To set up a Merchant account:
- Log into the Google Play Store publisher console.
- Click on Settings near the bottom left:
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Payments profile:
- Next, click Create payments profile:
- If you see a profile you’ve already created, you can select your existing profile.
Otherwise, create a new payments profile. - Complete all required fields on the profile form (Business location, Account type, Name and address, Primary contact info, Public business info, etc.):
- When you’ve completed the form, click Submit:
After submitting the form, you’ll be directed to this page:
That’s it, you’re all set!
Tip:
Click the link on the final Payments profile page to enroll in Google’s program for a reduced 15% service fee.
