Website verification
Website verification is a common issue with Google Developer accoutns when the connected site is not verified. To resolve this, we need to add the TXT record provided by Google to the organization's DNS settings.
Step 1. Google Play Console account
If website verification is required for your Developer account, a notification will appear.
- Click the View Details button to proceed:
You will be redirected to a page providing detailed instructions on how to complete the website verification process.
- Click the blue link labeled Learn More to access further guidance:
You will be taken to a page where you can add a website property.
- Scroll down to find the option "Add a new Property."
- Then, under Step 1, click the blue text link labeled Click Here to proceed.
- You will be redirected to Google Search Console where you will be prompted to select a property type.
- Locate the designated field where you need to enter your custom domain:
Step 2. Kajabi account
To enter your custom domain, you will need to open a new web browser window or tab and log into your Kajabi account.
Then, navigate to your Domain settings:
- Navigate to Settings from your Kajabi Dashboard:
- Within the "Settings" menu and select Domain:
Now, you will need to copy your custom domain:
- Identify your custom domain in the Domain settings.
- Be sure to include "www" when copying your custom domain:
Step 3. Verify Domain Ownership via DNS Record
- Then, paste your custom domain into the custom domain field:
After entering your domain you can proceed to verification.
- Click Continue to initiate the domain verification process.
A pop-up window will appear prompting you to verify your domain ownership through a DNS record:
- In Step 1 of the pop-up, select TXT from the dropdown menu.
- Then, copy the TXT record provided in Step 3 for later use:
If you manage your domain settings with your domain provider, click here to follow the instructions to verify your domain ownership through your domain provider.
If you manage your domain settings in Kajabi, continue with the following steps.
You will need to access your DNS Settings in Kajabi:
- Return to your Kajabi account.
- Navigate to the Domain Settings.
- Then, select DNS Settings:
- Click + Custom Record.
- Select TXT Record:
Add your copied TXT Record by inputting the following details:
- Name: "@"
- TXT Record Value; Paste the TXT record you copied from your Google Search Console:
- Then, click Add after entering the above details.
- Navigate back to your Google Search Console to the Verify domain ownership pop-up:
- Then, click Verify in the bottom right-corner of the pop-up.
- Click Done after you see the message confirming that ownership has been verified:
Step 4. Verify Website in Google Play Console
You will then need to return to your Google Play Console tab.
- Click Verify Website to proceed:
After verification, you will be redirected to the Account Details page.
- Scroll down to the Organization Website section and confirm that your custom domain is listed.
- Then, click Send Verification Request to finalize the process:
Note:
While the verification process may often complete instantly, there are instances when an email will be sent to your Developer account email address requesting you to verify your domain from there. In such cases, you will need to return to Google Search Console and repeat the domain verification steps. This scenario is particularly common for custom domains that utilize Path B in kajabi. Below is a sample email you may receive regarding this verification:
Step 5. Confirmation of Website Verification
Once your website is verified, a confirmation message will appear on the Account details page under the Organization Website section:
Now you can return to the homepage of your Google Play Console.
The notification for website verification should now be cleared, indicating successful verification.

After obtaining your TXT record, you will need to add the TXT record to your domain provider's DNS Records.
- Then, navigate back to the Verify domain ownership via DNS record tab.
- Click Verify:
