Learn how to schedule when your Email Broadcasts and Sequences are sent.
In this article:
Email broadcast
An Email Broadcast is one email that can be scheduled to send right now or at a specific date and time:
Email sequence
Email Sequences are a series of emails that can be scheduled to be sent on specific days and times from when the recipient subscribed to the sequence.
It is important to note that Email Sequences are sent based on an Action performed (e.g., a Form is submitted, an Offer is purchased, or an Automation is triggered).
Therefore, the date your recipient receives the emails in your sequence will depend on the date they subscribed to the sequence.
When creating your Email Sequence you can set when the emails in the sequence are sent according to the number of days after a user subscribes.
Sequences automatically default to Day 1, which is one day after a contact subscribes to your emails.
To make an email in a sequence send immediately when a contact subscribes, choose Day 0.
If you would like the second email to send 3 days after someone subscribes, select 3 for the second Email.
How is a "day" defined in an email sequence?
The "days" a subscriber has been subscribed is defined as the calendar day in the Email Sequence's time zone. The time of day a message is sent is also determined by the Email Sequence time zone.
This can be an important distinction if a large proportion of customers are in a different time zone.
Let's say your business is based in Southern California, but most of your customers live in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. That is a 16-hour time difference!
In this case, it may be more beneficial to adjust your Email Sequence to Philippine Time (PHT).
If you keep the email sequence time zone set to Pacific Standard Time (PST) and you create a campaign that opens the ability to subscribe during the last week of January with emails set to send at 10 AM (PST), and your customers subscribe at 2:00 PM (PHT), then they will receive your emails at 2:00 AM (PHT) one calendar day ahead of the time zone you are based out of.
Be sure to set your Email Sequence Settings to customize the time zone and send time for each Email Sequence you create. Learn to edit your email sequence settings.
