Viewing your video stats on a page
Measure your video's performance and gain a better understanding of your audience and their response to your content:
- Open the Website tab from the Dashboard.
- Click Pages.
- Select the Page containing the video you wish to view.
- Then, select Customize.
- Open your Video Block containing the video you wish to view.
- Click Video Actions from the sidebar.
- Then, select Video Stats:
Defining your video stats on a page
After opening your Video Stats, you will see three main sections: your summary stats, the engagement graph, and information for individual sessions.
These three sections can help you better understand how your visitors engage with your video.
This data can then be used to improve both your video content, how it is displayed on the page, and the page context surrounding the video to boost your play rate and engagement.
Located in the top right section of your Video Stats, your Summary Stats provide a high-level view of how your video has performed to-date.
The Average Engagement is displayed as a percentage to provide insight into how your viewers engage with your video content.
The percentage is calculated by the time spent viewing the video (calculated in hours) divided by the product of the total number of video plays and the video length.
Click View Details to see how your video's Average Engagement was calculated.
The Total Plays display the number of total times a visitor clicked play to view your video.
This number is calculated each time your visitors play the video, not by unique video views. This means a single visitor could view the video multiple times and your Total Plays will count each time the visitor plays the video.
Click View Details to compare the amount of time between uploading the video against the number of Total Plays.
The Play Rate is the percentage of time someone who saw the page containing the embedded video played the video.
This metric is a great tool to measure whether your video is in the best possible context such as:
- your video placement on the page,
- the use of a captivating thumbnail image,
- a customized player accent color to match your brand,
- and surrounding text to encourage your page visitors to click play.

To the right of your summary stats, you will see a preview of your video. This preview is an interactive engagement graph that allows you to see how your viewers are engaging with your content.
Simply move your cursor over the graph (from left to right) to see the specific frame and the overall engagement at that moment in your video. In addition to viewing second-by-second data, the overall view can provide insight into the points at which your viewers lost interest or stopped paying attention and disengaged from your video.
Understanding this data can empower you to create video content that best fits your audience to boost engagement.
Directly below your summary stats and engagement graph, you will find a list of individual sessions with a heatmap displaying the exact moment an individual stopped watching your video.
Each session contains viewer information, contextual information (when the video was watched and where), and a timeline representing how the specific viewer interacted with your video. At the end of each session is the total percentage of the video the viewer watched.
The small caret next to the name and location of the viewer (the small arrow pointing down) opens the session to view even more detail:
- the visitor's device used to watch your video,
- the IP address,
- and the exact page URL the viewer visited to watch the video.
This information can help you understand how certain viewers engage with your videos. For example, this data can provide insight into specific topics that may be more captivating to certain segments of your contacts or gain a better understanding of when your most engaged viewers are watching your videos.
