What is a Circle?

A Circle in Kajabi Communities allows you to segment your customers into more refined groups. Circles can be set up as a feed or a chat to engage your customers.

Create a Circle on the web

  • Open the Products tab from your Dashboard.
  • Select your Community Product.
  • Click Go to Community.
  • On the upper right corner, click the "+" icon.
  • Select Circle from the dropdown menu.
  • Add a Title and Description for your Circle, and optionally add a custom image.
  • Choose which Access Group will have access to your Circle.
  • Select the type of Circle you want to create:
    • A Feed layout supports posts and topic threads. It will be displayed in a feed-like style layout where the Community can post photos, videos, share content, and show appreciation.
    • A Chat is a group chat where you can exchange messages with others.
  • Set the privacy setting for your Circle:
    • The Public Circle is where all of your new members in the selected Access Group will be automatically added.
    • The Private Circle is where only people you invite will have access to it.
  • If you’re creating a Public Circle, click Save to create your Circle.
  • If you’re creating a Private Circle, click Next.

A members modal will open displaying a list of all Access Group members.

You'll select which people in your Access Group you want to invite to join a Private Circle. To add people to a Private Circle:

  • Use the checkboxes at the left to select which members to grant access.
Select the checkbox at the top of the list to select all members.
  • Click Save:

Note:
If you want to upload an image or video file to your Circle, there is a 1 GB upload limit for videos and a 40 MB upload limit for photos. Videos and rich content can also be added directly into a feed post by adding a link!
Note:
Add members to or remove members from a Private Circle at any time in your Circle settings by clicking the [#] members link at the right of the Privacy setting. A notification will appear in the Circle feed when new members are added.

Create a Circle on mobile

  • Open the mobile app.
  • Go to the Circles tab at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click the pencil icon in the top right corner:

Understanding File Upload Limits

When participating in a community, it's important to know the limitations regarding file uploads.

File Upload Limit Clarification

  • Upload video file: Each video file must be within the 1 GB upload limit.
  • Upload image files: Each image file must be within the 40 MB upload limit.

And that’s how you can create Community Circles! Please vote below and let us know if you found this article helpful. We value your feedback. Thanks for being the best part of Kajabi!
