How to Add and Edit a Downsell

Learn to encourage an additional sale with a Downsell.

What is a Downsell?

A Downsell is another Offer presented to customers that decline to purchase an Upsell.

This gives you a second chance to make an additional sale if your customer declines your Upsell.

Your Downsell is typically a lower-priced Offer, a discount on the Upsell Product, or you can choose to offer a completely new Product.


Add a Downsell

To add your Downsell Offer:

  • First, create an Offer to use as a Downsell.

  • Then, return to your Offers Dashboard and select the Offer you wish to attach your Downsell to.

  • Select the Upsells tab.

  • Add a new Upsell or navigate to an existing Upsell Offer.

  • Then, click Add downsell on your Upsell offer card.

  • Complete the Downsell prompt:

    • Select your Downsell offer.

    • Enter a Downsell title.

    • Enter a Downsell description.

    • Upload a video for your Downsell (optional).

    • Update the purchase button text (optional).

  • Click Add Downsell to apply your changes:

Be sure to activate both your Downsell and Upsell to initiate the upsell and downsell flow during checkout!


Edit your Downsell

After you have added a Downsell to your Offer, you have the ability to edit specific details of the Downsell further.

To edit your Downsell:

  • Open the Sales tab from your Dashboard.

  • Select the Offer containing the Downsell you wish to edit.

  • Select the Upsells tab.

  • Click the Downsell attached to your Upsell Offer.

  • Then, in the Downsell editor popup, edit the title, description, CTA text, or add a video.

  • Click Save to keep and apply your changes:


Remove a Downsell

To remove a Downsell from your Offer:

  • Open the Sales tab from your Dashboard.

  • Click Offers.

  • Select the Offer from which you'd like to remove the Downsell.

  • Select the Upsells tab.

  • On the Upsell page, click the … menu next to the Downsell Offer.

  • Click Remove to delete it:
