Add Tags with Automations

Note:

Growth and Pro Plans have access to create any Automation within the Marketing tab. Basic Plans will only have access to create Automations in various areas of Kajabi.


Tagging Contacts

Tags help you organize, categorize, and manage your Contacts on Kajabi. For example, Tags enable you to create Contact segments, filter your Contacts using Tags as criteria, send email sequences specifically to Contacts with a certain Tag, and more.

Follow this guide to learn how to create an Automation to add a Tag to a Contact after a Form submission, Email Sequence completion, or Offer purchase.


Add a Tag after form submission

To apply a Tag(s) to a Contact after they opt-in:

  1. Open the Marketing tab from the Dashboard.

  2. Select Forms.

  3. Select the Form you wish to edit or click + New Form to create a new form.

  4. Navigate to the bottom of the Form editor to access Automations.

  5. Click + Add Automation to create a new Automation.

  6. In the Then dropdown, select Add a tag.

  7. Select the Tag you wish to add or enter a new tag into the field.

    • When creating a new tag, remember to click Add new tag after typing the new tag's name

  8. Click Save to keep your changes:


Add a Tag After an Email Sequence is completed

To apply a Tag to a Contact after they have finished an Email Sequence:

  1. Open the Marketing tab from the Dashboard.

  2. Click Email Campaigns.

  3. Select an existing Email Sequence.

  4. Click + Add Automation beneath the final email in the sequence.

  5. Choose "Add a tag" as the Then action.

  6. Select an existing Tag or enter a new Tag title.

    • When creating a new tag, remember to click Add new tag after typing the new tag's name

  7. Click Save to create:


Add a Tag after an Offer purchase

  1. Go to the Sales tab from the Dashboard.

  2. Click Offers.

  3. Edit an existing Offer or create a new one.

  4. Navigate to the Automations section and click + Add Automation.

  5. Choose "Add a tag" as the Then action.

  6. Select an existing Tag or enter a new Tag title.

    • When creating a new tag, remember to click Add new tag after typing the new tag's name

  7. Click Save to create:

Note:

Tags can be added through Automations with any "When" Automation trigger.
