The terms

With Mighty Networks, you may be familiar with "Groups," where you can create Posts, Events, Chats, and Courses in your "Groups."

With Kajabi Communities, you can create Access Groups and Circles to interact with your community members.

With Kajabi Communities you can design your community much like you have it in Mighty Networks, but with more control and seamless connections with the rest of your business on Kajabi.

The layout

Kajabi Communities is designed to meet the needs of your business.

Looking to create tiers only accessible with certain price plans? Want to connect your existing Products with your community? Getting started with a general community space?

With Kajabi Communities, you are in control.

If you are a member of Mighty Networks Community, you may have structured your community based on their layout. In your own community, you may have a feed with various topics, events, a general group, or a specialized group.

Replicate your community layout within Kajabi Communities by building Access Groups to create a general group and specialized groups, Circles to capture your Feeds for your various topics, Chats to encourage conversations, and Live Rooms or Meetups for your upcoming events.

How to migrate your community members

Step 1. Identify your community structure

You may use Mighty Networks as a large public group that acts as a lead generator, or you may have a private group that is part of your paid subscription/membership offerings on Kajabi. Your migration steps will depend on the type of structure you want to move into Kajabi Communities.

Step 2a. You have a large public group

If you have a free, public group, you can use Kajabi Pages and Forms to help your members move to your new community.

  • First, create an Access Group in your Kajabi Community. Learn to create an Access Group

Note: When creating your Access Group, you will be prompted to create the Offer connected to your Access Group. Be sure to create a Free Offer when prompted.

  • After creating your Access Group, create a Form with Automation. Learn to create a Form.

Your Automation should be set up as follows:
    WHEN Form is submitted.
    THEN Grant an Offer.

  • Share your Landing Page URL to your social platforms and your community. This will give your members the ability to opt-in and be granted access to your new Kajabi Community.
Learn to copy your page link to share.

Tip:
Consider keeping your open group, but with settings to restrict the ability to post so that you create an urgency to move to your new community.

Step 2b. You have a private group

If you have a private group that is part of a paid subscription/membership Offer on Kajabi, you will want to communicate your move often and early.

  • First, create an Access Group in your Kajabi Community. Learn to create an Access Group.

Note: If you have an existing Offer that you wish to bundle your community into, skip the step to create an Offer when creating your Access Group.

  • Then, be sure to communicate with your community members your plan for migration and provide as much information as you can to help your members feel comfortable with the move.

Tip: Use a Landing Page and include a recording of walking through your new community to display how it will look and function in your communications. Learn to copy your page link to share.
  • Lastly, when your migration date arrives, simply add the Access Group to your existing Offer on Kajabi. Learn to Connect Additional Products to Your Offer.

Note: Be sure to select "Give this product to existing offer members" when prompted.
