Create an Offer your customers can gift to their friends and family.

Step 1. Set up a gift offer
First, Clone your Offer
Cloning your Offer allows you to create an Offer specific for customers wanting to gift your content to their friends and family. Your Gift Offer will be the cloned version of the original Offer for your customers to purchase and gift.
- Open the Product tab from your Dashboard.
- Select Offers.
- Locate the Offer you want to provide a gift option for and click the
…
icon. - Select Clone:
This cloned Offer can then be used specifically for gifting purposes for your customers to purchase and gift.
Customize your Cloned Offer with descriptive imagery and copy to your Gift Offer to emphasize the purpose of the Offer.

Step 2. Create a coupon
Next, create a 100% off coupon applied to the original Offer. This will act as the "gift card" or "gift voucher" sent to the buyer after purchase. The buyer can then gift the single-use coupon code:
- Open the Products tab from the Dashboard.
- Click Offers.
- Select Coupon from the top menu.
- Navigate to the top right corner of the page.
- Click + New Coupon.
- Select Single Coupon Code.
- Click Continue.
- Customize your Coupon code and create a 100% off coupon.
- Select Once for the Duration.
- Leave Valid Thru blank if you wish to allow your customer to apply the coupon at any time:
Then, activate your coupon
The coupon code is exclusive to the Offer(s) added in the Included Offers section of the coupon editor. For the coupon to be applied, you must first activate your coupon.
Add an Offer to your Coupon:
- From the Dashboard, click Products and open Offers.
- Click on Coupons.
- Select the Coupon you wish to activate.
- Click + Add Offer.
- Choose the Offer the coupon will apply to. This should be the original Offer the buyer is gifting.

Step 3. Create an automation
Create an Automation when the Gift Offer is purchased to send an email containing a single-use coupon.
Keep in mind, this Automation is separate from the "Send an email" Automation and is best used in this scenario to create a single-use coupon code that will expire after it has been applied.
To create your single-use coupon automation:
- Open the Products tab from the Dashboard.
- Click Offers.
- Select the Gift Offer to customize.
- In the Offer Editor, navigate to Automations.
- Click + Add Automation.
- From the When dropdown menu, select Offer is purchased.
- From the Then dropdown menu, select Send a single-use coupon.
- Select the 100% off coupon code you created in step 2.
- Customize the automation email according to your brand and language:
This Automation will send the buyer a single-use coupon code after purchase.
The single-use coupon code will be a unique coupon code connected to your 100% off coupon. This ensures that the single-use coupon code expires after it is applied to a purchase.
This is a great way to ensure that gift purchases will only be available to the gifted member.
If the single-use coupon code is shared after it has already been applied to a purchase the attempt will render an error message stating that the coupon has already been applied to a purchase and is no longer available for use.
You will not need to create multiple single-use coupons if you create this Automation (The Automation will do it for you!)
The buyer can then forward the email to whomever they choose to gift the Offer to.
Step 4. Share your offer
Share your Gift Offer and encourage your customers to gift the value you provide to their friends and family.
Share your link on social network platforms, email campaigns, online blogs, sales pages, your Store, or anywhere your customers live.
To add the Gift Offer to your store:
- Open the Website tab from the Dashboard.
- Click Store from the list of Website Pages.
- Select Customize.
- Navigate to the left panel.
- Select the Store Builder section.
- Click Add Content.
- Then, choose Offer Card.
- Select the Gift Offer.
- Click Save to keep your changes:
What happens when a customer purchases a Gift Offer?
When your customer purchases your Gift Offer, they will receive their unique single-use coupon code in their email. This is accomplished by creating the single-use coupon automation after the Offer is purchased.
Your customer can then forward, print, or share the single-use coupon code to whomever they choose to gift the Offer to.
After the single-use coupon code is applied to a purchase, the unique code will expire and cannot be applied to future purchases.
If you have allowed the default After Purchase setting to send your site's Purchase Confirmation Email, then the customer will also receive this automated email sent by your site.
