What is a quiz?

Test your customers’ knowledge and understanding and create an engaging Course experience with Quizzes.

When you create a Quiz in your Kajabi Course, you’ll be able to add multiple questions and choose from four different questions types (Multiple choice, Checkboxes, Short answer, and File upload).

You can create graded or non-graded Quiz questions, plus an auto-grading option is available for Multiple choice and Checkbox questions. You also have the option to require a passing Quiz grade to advance in the Course.

Create a quiz

Quizzes can be added at any point in your Course to test your customers’ understanding.

To create a Quiz:

  • Open the Products tab from your Dashboard.
  • Select the Course Product where you wish to add your Quiz or create a new Course.
  • Click + Add Content on the Module where you want to add your Quiz.
(Or alternately click the Add content button at the top right of the Course Outline).
  • Select Quiz to open the Quiz Builder and begin creating your Quiz:

Quiz questions

Create a variety of questions with your choice of four question types:

  • Multiple choice - multiple options with one correct answer.
  • Checkboxes - multiple options with one or more correct answers.
  • Short answer - use a text field to free-write a response to a prompt.
  • File upload - upload a file as an answer to a prompt.

To add a Multiple choice or Checkboxes question to your Quiz:

  • Input your question text in the Question text entry field.
  • Select the Multiple choice or Checkboxes question type from the drop-down menu.
  • Use the Graded question toggle to choose between a graded or non-graded question.
Multiple choice and Checkboxes questions will be auto-graded if the toggle is on.
  • (Optional) Click Attach image to attach an image to your question if desired.
  • Input your first answer option in the Option 1 text entry field.
(Optional) Click the image icon to add an image to your answer option if desired.
(Optional) Click Add explanation to add an explanation for the answer choice. The explanation will be displayed with the Quiz Results after the Quiz is graded.
  • Click Add option to input your next answer option, and repeat until done.
  • If you’re creating a graded question:
Select the radio button next to the correct answer for a Multiple choice question.
Select the checkbox(es) next to the correct answer(s) for a Checkboxes question.
  • Click Save to keep and apply your changes:

To add a Short answer or File upload question to your Quiz:

  • Input your question text in the Question text entry field.
  • Select the Short answer or File upload question type from the drop-down menu.

Short answer and File upload questions must be manually graded if the toggle is on.
  • (Optional) Attach an image to your question if desired.
  • Click Save to keep and apply your changes:

Click + Add question to add another question, and repeat the steps above until you’ve finished adding all of your Quiz questions.

Grading

Toggle on the Set a passing grade setting to mark auto-graded or manually graded Quizzes as passed or failed. Enabling this setting will allow you to set a passing grade percentage. You can also optionally:

  • Send the Quiz taker an email with a link to their graded Quiz results.
Customize the email content in Settings > Email Templates > Quiz Grade Published.
  • Prevent the Quiz taker from marking the quiz as complete without a passing grade.
Important Note: Selecting this option will disable the “Mark as complete” button until the Quiz is passed and stop the Quiz taker from advancing past the Quiz page. However, to prevent your Quiz taker from accessing further content via the Course index page, you must also Lock the Module(s) or Submodules(s) you wish to prevent the Quiz taker from accessing until after they’ve passed the Quiz. Learn more about how to Lock content in your Course.
