Learn best practices for backing up your content to protect, store, and organize your work.

In this article:

Step 1. Create a folder on your computer or drive

First, you will want to create a folder on your computer, external hard drive, or a cloud-based storage solution (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox) where you will keep your saved site content.

Use your preferred storage solution to back up your content and keep all of your site content organized and stored in a single location outside of Kajabi.

Step 2. Export product templates, pages, and contacts

Exporting your Product and Landing Page templates along with your Contact list is a great way to ensure you have a backup of that content.

If you need to recreate a Product or Page and you have the templates exported and saved, you will be able to load the templates and save your work.

Export this content to your previously created folder to ensure your saved content is in a safe location outside Kajabi.

Exporting your Contacts onto your preferred storage solution will ensure that you have your contact list saved and ready for upload in case of accidental deletion.

Learn to export your content with the following resources:

Tip:
Export your items to your preferred storage solution regularly (e.g., quarterly, annually, or after a product launch) to protect your content.

Step 3. Download video content to your hard drive

If you offer video content in your Products or on a Landing page you will want to be sure you have saved those video files to your computer. This will ensure that you have access to your video files in case you ever need to upload them again or wish to create another product with your existing video files.

Learn how to save videos to your hard drive.

Remember to save the videos to the folder you created, so you know exactly where to locate these videos in the future.

Step 4. Store other media on your computer or drive

When creating your Kajabi site, you will upload photos, videos, and other content to your site.

Be sure to save those files to your computer, external hard drive, or a cloud-based storage service (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).

You will not want to delete anything you have used on your site, in case you need to use it at a later time. If you need to recreate anything on your site, storing all of this content in the same folder will greatly cut down on time when searching for the content you used to create your site.

Step 5. Back up your content every week

Last, but certainly not least, back up your important information at least once a week to ensure the safety and security of your content.

Consider limiting access to your storage for any of your important content.
