Create, edit, or publish lessons
Create a lesson
- From the Dashboard, click Products.
- Click Courses and open the course you want to edit.
- Click Add Content next to a module.
- Choose Lesson.
- Enter the lesson title and click Create Lesson.
Edit a lesson
- From the Dashboard, click Products.
- Click Courses and open the course you want to edit.
- Click the Pencil icon next to the lesson you want to edit.
- Make your changes and click Save.
Set the status for a lesson
- From the Dashboard, click Products.
- Click Courses and open the course you want to edit.
- Open a lesson and go to the Status section.
- Select a status:
- Draft: Hidden from customers.
- Published: Visible to customers.
- Click Save.
Note: You cannot drip or lock individual lessons. As a workaround, create a module with just one lesson and set the drip or lock status on the module instead.
Lesson details
Title
You can edit the lesson title that will be displayed to your customers in the course outline and lesson player.Select module
Choose which module this lesson will live in. You can reassign a lesson to a different module at any time.Media
Optionally, you can include video, audio, or an assessment in your lesson. If you prefer to not have any media, you can click None.Note: The Assessment feature inside of courses has been sunset. This feature may still appear in older accounts. We recommend using quizzes inside your courses instead. Assessments can still be added to pages.
Lesson Thumbnail
Add a custom thumbnail image that appears in the course outline. To remove a lesson thumbnail:- From the Dashboard, click Products.
- Click Courses and open the course you want to edit.
- Click the Pencil icon next to the lesson.
- In the Lesson Thumbnail panel on the right, click on the Image actions dropdown and select Remove image.
- Click Save.
Note: Kajabi recommends using a .jpg or .png file with a non-transparent background. The recommended dimensions are 1280x720.
Content
Use the text editor to add written content, images, and screenshots to your lesson. This content appears below the media section in the lesson player.Comments
You can set the comment visibility for your lesson. There are 3 options:- Visible: Customers can view and add comments to your lesson
- Hidden: Customers will not be able to view or add comments
- Locked: Customers can view existing comments but won’t be able to add new comments
Note: If you wish to disable comments for all lessons, go to Settings in your course and see the Comment Settings section.
