Kajabi Payments is Kajabi’s built-in payment processor. It accepts all major credit and debit cards, plus digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay and Buy Now, Pay Later options like Afterpay and Klarna, so customers can pay the way they prefer at checkout. Because it’s built into Kajabi, you manage transactions, refunds, subscriptions, invoices, sales tax, and payouts from your Dashboard instead of a separate login. It also syncs with QuickBooks Online and Xero for bookkeeping.

Key benefits

  • Complete commerce solution — Handle every financial operation from your Dashboard: manage transactions, collect sales tax, send invoices, issue refunds, oversee subscriptions, and request Instant Payouts when you need funds right away
  • Expanded payment options — Accept major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Buy Now, Pay Later options like Afterpay (Clearpay in the UK) and Klarna, so customers can pay the way they prefer
  • One place for payments — Consolidate payment processing in Kajabi instead of stitching together third-party tools, so managing your finances takes less of your time

What you can do with Kajabi Payments

Accept payments

Kajabi Payments accepts all major credit and debit cards with no extra setup. You can also turn on digital wallets — Apple Pay and Google Pay — and Buy Now, Pay Later options, where your customer splits the cost into installments while you’re paid in full up front. Afterpay (branded Clearpay in the UK) and Klarna are both supported, and Klarna has a minimum and maximum transaction amount that depends on your currency. Payment providers are set per Offer, not account-wide, so you can turn Kajabi Payments on one Offer at a time. See Turn on a payment provider for Offers for instructions. Adding payment methods also changes how checkout looks. Once more than one method is configured on an Offer, the Checkout Form switches to a layout built around choosing a payment method.

Send Invoices

Create, send, and manage invoices directly in Kajabi from Sales > Invoices. Invoicing is useful for one-off payments, custom pricing, deposits, or B2B transactions like speaking engagements — anything that doesn’t fit a standard Offer checkout. US-based Heroes can also accept ACH Direct Debit on invoices, letting customers pay from a U.S. bank account. ACH is supported on invoices only, not on standard Offer checkouts. Invoicing is exclusive to Kajabi Payments. See Create and manage invoices with Kajabi Payments for more information.

Create manual purchases

Charge a customer directly from their contact record using a card they have on file or new card details, without sending a checkout link. Useful for closing a sale on a call, restarting a canceled subscription, or moving a customer to a different Offer. The customer receives Offer access and a receipt just like a standard purchase. See Create a manual purchase.

Manage money after the sale

Every transaction lands in your Kajabi Dashboard. From there you can issue full or partial refunds, send receipts, manually retry a failed payment, change a subscription’s payment amount, and pause or cancel a subscription or payment plan — the same work you’d do in Stripe, without a second login. Failed payments follow an automatic retry schedule before you need to step in (Manage failed payments with Kajabi Payments), and you can change a subscription’s billing date after it’s created (Update billing dates for Kajabi Payments subscriptions).

Handle tax and bookkeeping

Kajabi Payments calculates sales tax automatically at checkout, so you aren’t maintaining rates by hand. Setup is required before it starts collecting — see the Kajabi Payments sales tax overview to get started. For bookkeeping, Kajabi Payments syncs transaction data to QuickBooks Online and Xero:
Note: Sales tax and accounting sync are exclusive to Kajabi Payments.

Get paid

Payouts go to the bank account you connect during setup, on a regular schedule. You can add one bank account per supported currency, and how many currencies you get depends on where your business is registered. If you need money sooner, eligible Heroes can request an Instant Payout and receive their available balance in minutes — any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. A service fee applies and is shown before you confirm, and requesting one doesn’t change your regular payout schedule. See Instant Payouts with Kajabi Payments for eligibility and limits.

Supported countries

Kajabi Payments is available to Kajabi Heroes whose businesses are registered in the following regions. Setup differs by country, mostly in the documents you’re asked to verify, so start with the guide for yours: Kajabi is working to expand Kajabi Payments to more regions.

Kajabi Payments fees

Kajabi Payments has industry-standard processing fees that vary by region, plan, and payment method. Growth and Pro plans include fee discounts that are typically lower than standard Stripe pricing. Find your region’s rates: For more information on how those fees are billed to you, see Kajabi Payments processing fee invoices.

Kajabi Payments, Stripe, and PayPal

Kajabi Payments doesn’t replace the Stripe and PayPal integrations. Kajabi maintains and supports both, and you can have all three connected to the same account at once. Kajabi Payments and Stripe do the same job — they take credit and debit card payments — so on any given Offer you use one of them, not both. PayPal works differently, letting customers pay from their PayPal balance or linked accounts, so you can offer PayPal alongside whichever card processor you’ve chosen. The real difference is what you get access to. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay, Klarna, automatic sales tax, invoicing, and the QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations only work through Kajabi Payments. Stripe and PayPal keep working exactly as they do today, but those features aren’t available through them.

What happens when you switch

Turning on Kajabi Payments doesn’t disconnect anything. Stripe stays connected and keeps processing what it already has. Once you enable Kajabi Payments on an Offer, that Offer’s new payments run through Kajabi Payments and appear in your Dashboard. PayPal is unaffected. Subscriptions and payment plans already billing through Stripe stay on Stripe and keep charging there — Kajabi Payments applies to new transactions going forward. Moving them is a deliberate migration, not something the switch does for you: see Convert Offers from Stripe to Kajabi Payments and Migrate Stripe subscriptions and payment plans to Kajabi Payments. Most customers won’t notice the change. Some returning customers may need to enter their card details again on their first purchase through Kajabi Payments, because cards saved with Stripe don’t carry over.

Detaching your Stripe account

Detaching Stripe from Kajabi is a bigger step than switching an Offer over, and it has three effects:
  • New payments stop. Stripe no longer processes new payments through Kajabi.
  • Existing subscriptions don’t renew. Active subscriptions and multi-payment purchases remain, but they won’t renew unless you manage them manually in another system.
  • Old records stay, new data doesn’t sync. Past Stripe transactions remain visible in Kajabi, but new data no longer syncs to Stripe.

FAQs

Can I add more than one bank account to use with Kajabi Payments?

You can add one bank account per supported currency, and the number of currencies available depends on where your business is registered. In Canada you can add a CAD account and a USD account. In the United Kingdom and the select European countries where Kajabi Payments is available, you can add up to 7 accounts, one per supported currency. The accounts you link determine how payments are processed and when currency conversions happen. To add an account after your initial setup, go to Sales > Payouts and click Add bank account.

Do I need a Stripe account to use Kajabi Payments?

No. Kajabi Payments runs on Stripe’s processing engine, but you don’t create or manage a Stripe account to use it. If you already have a personal Stripe account, deleting it has no effect on your ability to collect payments through Kajabi Payments.

What happens to my subscriptions if I cancel Kajabi?

Customer subscriptions aren’t canceled automatically when you cancel Kajabi. They continue to bill unless you cancel them manually. After cancellation, you can still log in with limited access to manage customer payments from the Payments section — including refunds, transactions, subscriptions, payment plans, and disputes — regardless of whether payments were processed through Kajabi Payments, Stripe, or PayPal. Stripe and PayPal subscriptions can also be managed directly in those services. See Manage services and customer payments after account cancellation for full details.

How does Kajabi Payments handle payment security?

Kajabi Payments is built in partnership with Stripe, which means both payment solutions use the same processing engine. Kajabi Payments operates as a standalone feature within the Kajabi platform but is powered by Stripe on the backend, handling core aspects of payment processing. You can expect the same reliability with Kajabi Payments as you would with Stripe.
