Customize a Thank You page

Design the Thank You page customers see after a purchase, send Form submitters to a custom thank you page, and pass submission data to a second Form.

A thank you page confirms an action and tells your customers or subscribers what to do next. Kajabi uses two kinds: the standard Thank You page you can send customers to after they buy an Offer, and custom thank you pages that you connect to a Form.

Customize the standard page if you sell Offers. If you collect leads with Forms, go straight to redirecting submitters to a custom page. Autofilling a second Form is the last section and requires custom code.

Customize the standard Thank You page

The standard Thank You page is a page customers can see after they buy an Offer. It shows a short message that thanks them, and with the Website Builder you can design it to match your brand.

Customers only see this page when the Offer is set to send them there. By default, an Offer sends customers to their Library instead, so choose the Thank You page for each Offer you want to use it with.

New sites start with an empty default theme, and its Thank You page can't be customized. To design the page, select a customizable site template. Learn how to customize your site with the Website Builder.

Warning: After you select a customizable site template, you can't return to the empty default site theme.

Open the Thank You page in the Website Builder

  1. Open the Website tab from your Dashboard.

  2. Click the Website Pages tab.

  3. Select Thank You Page from your list of website pages.

Customize the Offer Thank You section

Add and customize Blocks and Sections to build a Thank You page that fits your brand. The page also includes an Offer Thank You section, which exists only on the Thank You page.

To open the section's settings, click Offer Thank You in the sidebar panel.

Enter your message in the Thank You Text field. Customers see this message by default when an Offer sends them to the Thank You page.

To show a different message for an individual Offer, enter it in the Body field of that Offer's Post-purchase settings after you select Go to a Thank You Page.

The text editor works like the Text Block editor. Expand it to format your message.

  2. Click Pricing.

  3. Select the Offer you want to edit.

  4. Select the Purchase flow tab.

  5. In the Post-purchase section, select Go to a Thank You Page from the Post-purchase menu.

  6. Click Save.

The Post-purchase menu also offers Go to the Library, which is the default, and Go to a Landing Page. Learn how to send customers to a Landing Page after checkout.

Note: If the Offer has an active upsell flow, customers see the upsell flow first and then continue to the destination you chose.

Send Form submitters to a custom thank you page

Redirect Form submitters to a branded page right after they subscribe. A custom thank you page lets you reinforce your messaging, deliver content, or guide subscribers to their next step.

Note: This section covers redirecting to a Kajabi Landing Page. To send Form submitters to a page outside Kajabi, such as a WordPress or other third-party page, create a Kajabi Landing Page with a redirect script, then connect that page to your Form. Learn how to set up a redirect on a Kajabi page.

Choose which thank you page a Form uses

A Form's page can have its own Thank You Page setting in the page editor, and the Form can have a thank you page selected in its After Submission settings. If you set both, the page editor setting takes priority.

If you set neither, submitters see a basic confirmation message that reads “Thank you! We have received your submission.” with a Back to the Previous Page button. This isn't the standard Thank You page you design for Offer purchases.

Autofill a second Form with submission data

Pass submission data to the thank you page is a Form setting for people with developer experience. It sends what a visitor submitted, such as their name and email, to the thank you page. Without custom code, Kajabi sends the data but nothing on your page captures or displays it.

The setting is part of the Form's After Submission settings. Use it to autofill a second Form after a visitor submits the first.

After submission settings

A Form that leads to another Form lets you collect a simple submission before asking more detailed questions, or have visitors complete a Form before they get access to your application.

This setup redirects visitors to a second Form after they submit the first. The second Form fills in their name and email from the first submission:

Before you begin

You need two Forms and two Pages, with one Form on each Page. If you already built your landing pages and Forms, continue to the next section.

Note: This setting works with Single Opt-in and Double Opt-in Forms. It doesn't work with Forms triggered by a Two-Step Opt-in popup.

Turn on Pass submission data for the first Form

Turn on the setting for the first Form your visitors submit. The thank you page you select is the second page, the one that contains your second Form.

  1. Open the Marketing tab from your Dashboard.

  2. Click Forms.

  3. Select the first Form your visitors will complete.

  4. Navigate to the After Submission settings.

  5. Enable Send the contact to a custom thank you page.

  6. Select the second page, the one with your second Form, from the dropdown.

  7. Next, enable Pass submission data to the thank you page, then click Save:

Pass submission data setting

Note: If the page that contains your first Form has the Thank You Page setting turned on in the page editor, Kajabi uses that setting and doesn't pass submission data. Leave the page editor setting off.

Kajabi passes the default Form fields your visitor filled in as URL parameters, such as name and email: Name, Email, Phone Number, Mobile Phone Number, Address, Address Line 2, City, State, Country, Zip Code, and Business Number. It skips blank fields and doesn't pass custom fields.

Add the custom code to the second page

Warning: Custom code can expose your site to vulnerabilities and malware. Scan any custom code you plan to use with a tool like VirusTotal or Snyk, and follow these custom code best practices to reduce the potential impact.

After you enable the After Submission settings, add the code below to your second page. It fills the Name and Email fields of the second Form from the data in the page URL. How you add it depends on the editor you used to build the page: Kajabi Pages or Premier.

Copy the JavaScript below:

<script> const queryString = window.location.search; //get the URL of the page const urlParams = new URLSearchParams(queryString); //process the URL so you can pick out the parameters inside const nameParam = urlParams.get('name') //get the name parameter inside the URL const emailParam = urlParams.get('email') //get the email parameter inside the URL var name =nameParam; var email =emailParam; var x = document.getElementById("form_submission_name"); //get the Name field of the form x.value = name; //autofill name field with the value we got from the URL var y = document.getElementById("form_submission_email"); //get the Email field of the form y.value =email; //autofill email field with the value we got from the URL </script>

Add the custom code to a page built with Kajabi Pages

With Kajabi Pages, you add the code directly from the page editor.

  1. Copy the code above, leaving out the opening and closing <script> and </script> tags.

  2. Open the Website tab from your Dashboard.

  3. Click Website Pages or Landing Pages, depending on the type of page.

  4. Select the second page, the one that contains the Form you want to autofill.

  5. Click Settings in the page editor.

  6. Open Custom Code.

  7. Paste the code into the Javascript box.

  8. Click Save to apply your changes.

When a visitor submits the first Form, the second Form fills in their name and email from that submission.

Add the custom code to a page built with Premier

Premier pages need the Code Editor, which is available only with the Pro Plan. Compare plans at kajabi.com/pricing.

  1. Copy the entire code above, including the opening and closing <script> and </script> tags.

  2. Open the Website tab from your Dashboard.

  3. Click Website Pages or Landing Pages, depending on the type of page.

  4. Click on the more options (...) icon, and select Modify code.

  5. Open the Templates folder.

  6. Select the index.liquid file.

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the file.

  8. Place your cursor before the closing body tag, </body>.

  9. Press Enter to create an empty line.

  10. Paste the code on the line directly above </body>.

  11. Click Save to apply your changes.
