Learn to customize the language and text displayed if you have created a setup fee for your Offer.

The Setup fee is an optional setting available when creating a recurring payment Offer that allows you to set a different starting price for your Offer.
How does the setup fee work?
If a Setup fee is entered, the first payment charged immediately upon purchase will include the Setup fee.
This means that if you choose to keep the trial period blank, your Member will be charged the Setup fee + Payment Amount for the first payment.

If a trial period is set alongside a setup fee, the setup fee will be the first amount charged, separate from the regular payment amount.
After the end of the trial period, each following payment period will only charge the specified Payment amount.
Why customize my setup fee text?
By default, your setup fee will display, "setup fee" as the descriptor. Customize your setup fee text to better fit your brand and Offer pricing.
For example, with the setup fee text you can specify the purpose of the fee such as:
- "Enrollment fee"
- "Registration fee"
- "Trial fee"
- "Matriculation fee"
This will give your customers more transparency and clarity around your pricing and allow you to customize your Offer pricing with the language and brand that best fits your business and audience.
Customize your setup fee text
Customize your setup fee text by first creating a setup fee for your Recurring Payment Offer, then enter your setup fee text.
To customize your setup fee text:
- Open the Sales tab from the Dashboard.
- Click Offers.
- Select the Offer you wish to edit or create a new one.
- Then, click Offer Details.
- Navigate to the Price Details section.
- Click the Payment Type field.
- Navigate to the Setup Fee field.
- Enter your desired Setup Fee.
- Then, enter your setup fee text in the "Setup fee override text" field.
