A two step optin popup opens when a visitor clicks a button or Call to Action (CTA) on your page, then asks them to subscribe to your email list. Use it to grow your list with a branded popup instead of a form that sits on the page.
Note: This article covers pages built with the current page editor. If you use the Premier legacy template, see Two step optin popup in the Premier legacy template below.
Visitors take two steps: they click a button, then they opt in. Committing to the small first step makes the second step more likely, so a two step optin can improve your opt-in rate. You can fill the popup with text, images, video, and a form.
Add a two step optin popup to a page
Create the popup
Your two step optin popup is shared across your site, so changes you save on one page appear wherever the popup is used.
From the Dashboard, click Website, then click Website Pages or Landing Pages.
Click the Title of the page to open the editor.
In the sidebar, click Two Step Optin.
Turn on Edit Two Step Popup to display the popup while you edit. Turn it off when you finish.
Add content blocks, such as a form, and configure the popup's Layout Settings.
Click Save.
Note: If you include a form in your popup, open the form block and select the Thank You Page your form submitters visit after they complete the Form.
Trigger the popup with a button or Call to Action
Set up a button or Call to Action to open the popup when a visitor clicks it. You can add more than one button or CTA that opens the popup.
In the page editor, select or create a block or section to hold the button or CTA.
Add a button or CTA to the block or section.
In the button or CTA, open button action.
Select Open two step optin popup as the action.
Click Save.
Note: To stop the popup from opening, repeat these steps and change the CTA action, or remove the block or section entirely.

Edit the popup to change how it looks and what it shows.
Add content blocks to the popup
In the sidebar, click Add block.
Select your content block.
Rearrange your blocks by holding the handle
=icon and dragging to your desired location.Click Save.
Content block types
Customize each block in your popup. Click a block name to learn more about its settings.
Note: By default, your popup includes an Image block and a Form block. To remove either one, open the block and click Delete this Block at the bottom of the sidebar editor.
Layout settings
Open the Layout Settings dropdown menu to customize the layout of your popup. Open each content block to customize how that block looks.
Set the Popup Background Color.
Set the Vertical and Horizontal alignment of the blocks in the popup.
Check Make Container Flush to remove the padding around the blocks in the popup.

Create the popup in Premier
If you don't have a page yet, create a page first.
From the Dashboard, click Website, then click Website Pages or Landing Pages.
Click the Title of the page to open the editor.
In the sidebar, scroll to the bottom and click Two Step Optin.
Select Show Popup.
Customize the popup's appearance, then click Save.
Trigger the popup in Premier
Set up a button or Call to Action to open the popup when a visitor clicks it. You can add more than one button or CTA that opens the popup.
In the editor, select or create a Call to Action (CTA) section to trigger the popup.
In the button or CTA, click CTA or Button Action.
Select Open two step optin popup as the action.
Click Save.
Customize the popup in Premier
Choose an image, pick the Form to display, send submitters to a Thank You Page, and style the popup. You can also add images, text, and a Progress Bar to encourage urgency.
Show Popup
Turn this setting on to display the popup in the editor. Turn it off before you finish editing.
Show Image
To display an image in your popup, turn on Show Image.
Form Settings
To select a form from the dropdown, first create a form. Click Edit Forms to edit or create a form.
FAQs
Can I use a different two step optin popup for two different site pages?
No. Your site has one two step optin popup. When you edit the popup on any site page, your changes appear on every other page that uses it.
Can I add a two step optin popup to the Login page or the 404 page?
No. You can't add the two step optin popup to the Login page or the 404 page.
