Tier rules, commission rates, payout timing, and eligibility for the Kajabi Partner Program are explained below. For full program terms, see the Partner Program Agreement.

General

What is a Kajabi Partner?

As a Kajabi Partner, you refer clients to Kajabi and provide them with the tools they need for their online business. The Kajabi Partner Program offers a scalable commission structure based on your impact and engagement. As your referrals grow, so does your earning potential.

Do I need to be a Kajabi customer to become a partner?

Yes. At this time, the partner program application is only open to Kajabi Heroes.

What if I believe I’ve been incorrectly deactivated or underpaid?

Please contact partners@kajabi.com. We’ll review your account and help resolve any issues.

Tiers & commissions

What are the different partner tiers?

Partners can earn increasing commissions as they move up tiers based on the number of active referrals. See the tier breakdown here.

How is my tier determined?

Your tier is based on how many active referrals you have. An active referral is a Hero who:
  • Completed their trial
  • Has an active, paid subscription
  • Is not on a parked plan or experiencing payment issues

Do tiers change automatically?

Yes. Your tier will automatically update as referrals activate or churn. When it’s time for payouts, we look at the tier you were in during the month the transaction occurred, not your current tier. For example, payouts in June are based on your tier from April.

Inactivity cliff

What is the “cliff”?

If you go 12 months without generating 1 new referral (not reactivation), you’ll hit the inactivity cliff.

What happens when I hit the cliff?

You’ll lose eligibility to earn commissions. If you’re a grandfathered partner, you’ll also lose your 30% legacy commission rate and move into the tiered structure.

Can I reactivate my partner status after hitting the cliff?

Yes. To reactivate, you must refer a new Hero—someone who has never been referred to Kajabi before. This does not include Heroes who were previously referred and later reactivated, or who moved from a parked to an active subscription. Once reactivated, your tier will be based on your current count of active referrals.

Grandfathered partners

What happens if I cancel my Kajabi subscription but still want to be a partner?

You’ll need to email partners@kajabi.com to switch to the standalone partner program.
Note: You will no longer receive the 30% grandfathered commission, and this change is not retroactive. You won’t receive 30% on past or future transactions once the switch is made, even if they occurred while you were still eligible.

Payouts

When are payouts made?

Payouts are reviewed between the 19th–23rd of each month and are typically issued by the 25th. They cover transactions from roughly 60 days prior. For example, you’ll receive your April payout around April 25th for transactions that occurred in February.

What do partners earn commission on?

Only on active base plan subscriptions. Add-ons, Kajabi Payments, or Feature Limit Increases (FLIs) are excluded. Parked is not considered an active base plan and, therefore excluded from payouts.

What if my tier changes before a payout?

You’ll be paid based on the tier you were in during the referral month, not the payout month. If your active referral count drops halfway through the month, we will default to the higher tier for that month to ensure you’re paid fairly.

What happens if I referred someone in the past who reactivated their subscription?

You won’t be reactivated unless you refer someone new. Renewals of old referrals don’t count for reactivation or cliff extensions.

What if my PayPal email is incorrect?

You’ll need to correct this ASAP. If we can’t pay you within 90 days, your payout will be forfeited to prevent long-term liability. Learn how to update your PayPal email here. You can advise them to send an email to partners@kajabi.com requesting that you receive credit for their account. The Partner team will then be able to look into manually associating them with your account.

Does my commission change if my referral upgrades their Kajabi Subscription from monthly to annual?

Your commission rate stays the same (the percentage tied to your partner tier). The payout cadence follows your referral’s billing cadence:
  • Annual plan: If your referral switches to an annual plan, you earn your tier’s commission percentage on each annual subscription payment, paid out once per annual billing event.
  • Monthly plan: If your referral switches to a monthly plan, you earn your tier’s commission percentage on each monthly payment, paid out monthly.
If you’re a Starter Partner earning a bounty (rather than recurring commission), the bounty equals 100% of the referral’s first month of subscription payment. For an annual referral, the bounty equals one month of that annual plan’s value, not the full annual amount.

Will Kajabi send me tax forms for my Partner payouts?

No, Kajabi does not provide tax forms for your Partner payouts. Since Kajabi uses PayPal to send Partner payouts, questions regarding tax forms should be directed to PayPal. Visit PayPal’s Help Center for more information.

Will Kajabi send me receipts or invoices for Partner Payments?

No, Kajabi does not send receipts or invoices for Partner payouts. Depending on your account settings in PayPal, you may receive emails or notifications when you receive payments from Kajabi. Visit PayPal’s Help Center for more information.

Bounty vs. commission

What is a “bounty”?

A bounty is a one-time payment for a qualifying new referral when the partner is in the Starter tier and not yet earning ongoing commissions. The bounty equals 100% of the referral’s first month of subscription payment. If the referral is on an annual plan, the bounty equals one month of that annual plan’s value, not the full annual subscription amount.

Can I earn a bounty and commission on the same referral?

No. Once a bounty or commission has been paid for a referral, that referral is no longer eligible for another payout type.
