Your website, pages, blog, and blog posts each have a dedicated SEO and social sharing section. It controls the title, description, and image that search engines and social networks show for a page. For landing pages, it also controls whether search engines can find the page at all.
Below, you'll find where to edit these settings for each page type, how to hide a landing page from search, how your sitemap works, and how to fix SEO changes that don't show up.
SEO and social sharing fields
Three fields in the SEO and social sharing section control how a page looks in search results and when someone shares its link:
Page Title
Page Description
Page Image
Sales Pages, Newsletters, and Newsletter posts also have an SEO and social sharing section in their settings.
Page Title
A strong Page Title can help your page rank in Google and other search engines. Keep it to 60 characters or less. If you leave it blank, Kajabi uses the page name as the title.
Search engines may show relevant text from your page instead of your title. The title may also appear in the browser tab.
Page Description
Summarize the content of your page in 1-2 sentences, using 160 characters or less. Depending on the search engine, your Page Description may display below the title in search results. The search engine may show relevant text from your page instead.
Page Image
Choose a social image for a page or blog post with Choose a social image, or swap it later with Replace image. The image may display when someone shares your link by text, email, or social media.
Tip: Use free image editing tools like Canva to design your images.
Find SEO and social sharing settings by page type
Set SEO and social sharing for site-level pages
Kajabi creates some website pages automatically, so they can't have their own SEO and social sharing section. Fill in their details in Site Details instead. This applies to these pages: 404, Announcements, Blog, Blog Post, Blog Search, Home, Library, Login, Customer Directory, Store, and Thank You.
From the Dashboard, click Settings.
Select Site Details.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to SEO and social sharing.
Note: For the default About and Contact pages and any website pages you create, follow the steps in Set SEO and social sharing for a landing page below. Select Website Pages instead of Landing Pages.
Set SEO and social sharing for a landing page
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Click Website Pages or Landing Pages. Learn about each page type available on Kajabi.
Next to the page title, open the more options (...) menu.
Select Edit details.
Scroll to the SEO and social sharing section for the page.
Tip: Fill in the SEO and social sharing section when you create each landing page, so every page has SEO and sharing set up from the start.
Set SEO and social sharing for a blog
Your blog's SEO and social sharing settings apply to your Blog homepage, Blog search results page, and Blog category pages.
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Click Blog.
Click Settings.
Set SEO and social sharing for a blog post
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Click Blog.
Select the Blog Post you want to edit.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to SEO and social sharing.
Tip: Fill in the SEO and social sharing section when you create each blog post, so every post has SEO and sharing set up from the start.
Set the SEO image for a Funnel
A Funnel's SEO image comes from the first page of the Funnel. To change it, upload your image in that page's details.
From the Dashboard, click Marketing.
Select Funnels.
Select the Funnel you want to edit.
Locate the first page in the Funnel.
Open the more options (...) menu.
Select Edit details.
Go to the SEO and social sharing section to customize your settings.
Fix a social image that doesn't show when you share a link
If the social image you set for a URL doesn't show when you post the link, ask the platform to scrape the URL again.
Refresh the image on Facebook
Paste the URL in the Facebook Debugger.
Scrape the URL again.
Paste the link in your desired location.
Refresh the image on X (formerly Twitter)
Use a X/Twitter Card Validator tool to refresh X's cache.
Refresh the image on LinkedIn
Open the Post Inspector Tool.
Enter the URL in the text field at the top of the page.
Click Inspect.
Hide a landing page from search engines
Hide a landing page from search results to keep it private or exclusive to a specific audience. This setting is available for standalone Landing Pages only. You can't apply it to standard website pages.
Note: Hiding a page from search also hides any links or downloads on that page from web searches. People can no longer find those files or links through a search engine.
From the Dashboard, click Website, then select Landing Pages.
Locate the landing page you want to hide from search engines.
Open the more options (...) menu.
Select Edit details.
Scroll to the SEO and social sharing section.
Turn off the Show page in search results toggle. The message reads This page is hidden from search engines.
Click Save.
When you turn off Show page in search results, Kajabi adds a noindex, nofollow meta tag to the page. The tag tells search engines not to index the page or follow its links. Kajabi also leaves the page out of your sitemap.
View a sitemap
Search engines use your sitemap to understand how your site is structured, find each page, and show the right pages in results. Kajabi creates your sitemap for you from your published pages.
A sitemap is an XML file that points search engines like Google to your important pages.
Pages included in your sitemap
Your sitemap includes published content across your Kajabi site:
Landing Pages (published, with Show page in search results turned on)
Website Pages (published custom pages, excluding system pages such as 404, Login, Library, and Blog)
Blog homepage, Blog Posts, and Blog category tag pages
Sales Pages (published)
Store page
Podcast pages (public podcasts and their published episodes)
Newsletter pages (unarchived newsletters and their published web-visible posts)
Your site homepage
Pages with Show page in search results turned off, unpublished pages, and private podcasts aren't in the sitemap. Learn how to customize your page details.
Open your sitemap in a browser
Type your website's URL in a web browser, followed by
/sitemap.xml.
For example, to see the Kajabi.com sitemap, enter kajabi.com/sitemap.xml.
Submit your sitemap to Google
Search engines like Google find your sitemap on their own. To speed this up after significant changes to your website, add your sitemap to the Google Search Console Sitemaps report. This step is optional.
Remove a URL from search engines permanently
To remove content or a URL from Google Search permanently, take one of these actions:
Remove or update the content on your site (images, pages, directories) and make sure your site returns a 404 (Not Found) HTTP status code. Remove non-HTML files, like PDFs, from your site completely. Bots can still index them.
Block access to the content
Add a noindex meta tag to indicate the page shouldn't be indexed. This is less secure than the other methods. Learn more about blocking indexing from Google
Don't use robots.txt as a blocking mechanism.
To hide a URL that's already indexed, you can also use the Removals Tool to hide the URL.
Hide your login page from search engines with custom code
If your plan includes code editor access, like the Pro Plan, you can add a noindex meta tag to your site's code. The tag keeps your login page out of most search engines.
Warning: Custom code can open your site to vulnerabilities and malware. Scan any code you plan to use with a tool like VirusTotal or Snyk. Learn about code-based customizations and best practices.
Add the noindex tag to your site code
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Click on Design.
Select Modify code from the dropdown menu next to your live site name.
From the Snippets directory, open the global_head.liquid file.
Copy the code snippet below and paste it between the tags in your file.
Click Save.
<!-- 'noindex' to hide login page from search engines === --> {% if template == "login" %} <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> {% endif %}
Add the noindex tag to the Premier template
If you use the legacy Premier template, add the same code snippet to your Premier template.
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Select Modify code from the dropdown menu next to your live site name.
From the Layouts directory, open the theme.liquid file.
Copy the code snippet below and paste it between the tags in your file.
Click Save.
Discourage AI bots from scraping your site
Completely blocking AI bots from scraping your content is tricky, but Kajabi can help you make it harder for them. Many AI scrapers identify themselves with a unique code called a user agent. Kajabi uses Cloudflare to protect your sites and can block scrapers by user agent. Email [email protected] and we'll help.
Examples of web crawlers associated with AI (this list isn't exhaustive):
User agent: anthropic-ai
User agent: CCBot
User agent: ChatGPT-User
User agent: GPTBot
User agent: OmigiliBot
Note: Blocking all bots can hurt your SEO, because search engine crawlers are bots too. Weigh the trade-off between blocking access and allowing some scraping.
Troubleshooting
Fix SEO changes that don't appear on your live site
After you save changes to a page's SEO title or description, the live site may still show the old version. Work through these fixes in order.
Republish the page
Saving in the editor doesn't always trigger an immediate cache refresh. To force a refresh:
From the Dashboard, click Website.
Locate the page in the Website, Landing, or Funnels tab.
On the right side, select Customize to open the page in the editor.
Make a minor edit, such as adding and deleting a space.
Click Save.
Wait a few minutes, then check the live URL in a private or incognito window.
Clear your browser cache
If the page still shows old content, your browser may be serving a cached copy. Open the URL in a private or incognito window, which bypasses your local cache. You can also hard-refresh with Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
Purge your Cloudflare cache
If your Kajabi site runs through your own Cloudflare account or another CDN proxy, cached content at that layer can take longer to update. To purge the Cloudflare cache:
Log in to your Cloudflare dashboard.
Select your website domain.
Go to Caching, then select Configuration.
Find Purge Cache and click Purge Everything.
Recheck the live URL.
Search engine results still show old values
Even after Kajabi shows your new SEO title and description, search engines like Google and Bing keep displaying the old values until their crawlers re-index your page. This can take days or weeks and is outside Kajabi's control. To speed it up, submit the URL for re-indexing in Google Search Console with URL Inspection > Request Indexing.
