Create coupons for special promotions or deals on your offers. Learn how to give a dollar amount or a percentage off of single payments or monthly subscriptions for custom time durations and to select an expiration date.

In this article:

Step 1. Creating a coupon

To create a new coupon:

  • Open the Sales tab from your Dashboard.
  • Choose Coupons.
  • Click + New Coupon.
  • Select Single Coupon or Bulk Codes
  • For this example, we have selected Single Coupon:

Note:
Your coupon must be in the same currency as the Offer it is attached to. Be sure to select the corresponding currency if you choose to apply an Amount Off for your coupon. As you create your coupon, keep in mind that coupons cannot be edited once created.

Configure your Coupon Code

  • Enter your custom Coupon Code.
  • Select the Discount type as a Percent off or Amount off.
Tip:
If you wish to create a 100% Off coupon, it must be applied as a Percent Off rather than an Amount Off. Be sure to set the value of the discount to 100% Off to create a Free coupon. Keep in mind that your customer will still need to provide their credit card information when using a Free coupon on recurring subscription Offers.
  • Enter the actual value of the discount.

If your coupon is used for Multi-Pay or Subscription Offers, you can also change the Duration of the Discount. For instance, you can choose to cover:

  • The first payment the coupon is used for by clicking Once.
  • Repeating to apply the discount to all payments made within the specified number of months.
  • The remainder of the billing period by selecting Forever.

Lastly, select the date you would like the coupon to expire (optional):

Once a specific coupon code is used, expired, or deleted, it can never be used again.

Note:
If you choose to apply a multi-month coupon to a weekly subscription Offer, your coupon will discount all payments within your specified duration. For example, if you set up a multi-month coupon to last for the duration of 4 months and you apply it to a weekly subscription, your customer applying the coupon will have 16 weekly payments discounted within the 4 months.

Step 2. Adding offers to the coupon

The coupon code will only be valid for Offers that are added in the Included Offers section of the coupon.

To add an Offer:

  • Open the Sales tab from the Dashboard.
  • Select Coupons to edit an existing coupon or create a new one.
  • Click the title of your coupon.
  • Navigate to the Included Offers card and click + Add Offer.
  • Choose the Offer you want to include:

Offers can be added and removed after the coupon code is created.

Note:
If you duplicate an Offer that is connected to your coupon, the duplicated Offer will also become an included Offer for the coupon. Learn to duplicate Offers.

Step 3. Share your discount link

After you have included an Offer with the coupon you will see a Discount link button.

Clicking this will copy the Offer checkout link with the coupon code already applied:

Once a coupon code is added to an Offer, your customer will be able to apply the code from the right sidebar of the checkout page.

Note:
Coupons will only apply to the Offer(s) attached. If the Offer includes an Upsell, the coupon will not apply to the Upsell.
