A Privacy Policy and Terms page tells site visitors how you collect and use their data, and sets the rules for using your products and services. Publishing one is standard practice for running a business online, and several privacy and consumer-protection laws require it. Drafting Privacy Policy and Terms content involves real legal complexity. We recommend reviewing which laws and regulations apply to your business and site — this can include the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other accessibility laws, automatic renewal and subscription rules, sales tax rules, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), among others. Build the page with the Policies template

Kajabi’s Policies template gives you a ready-made Privacy Policy & Terms page you can customize with your own content.

1. From the Dashboard, open the Website tab.
2. Click Landing Pages.
3. Click +New Landing Page in the top right corner.
4. Under Global Branding Enabled, select the Policies template.
5. Click Get started.
6. Enter a Title for your Privacy Policy & Terms page. This is what displays in your visitor’s browser tab. (To learn how to update this value later, see Customize page details.)
7. Click Create.

Link the policy page in site navigation

Make sure visitors can find your policies by adding a link to them in your site’s navigation menu — commonly in the footer.

1. Open the Website tab from the Dashboard.
2. Click Navigation.
3. Select an existing menu, or click New Navigation Menu, enter a Title, and click Save Menu to create one. (We recommend a menu created specifically for your page footer.)
4. Click + Add, then select Add Page.
5. Enter the link Name your visitors will see.
6. Search for your Privacy Policy & Terms page and select it.
7. Click Save.

Do I need a Privacy Policy and Terms page?

Most businesses that collect visitor or customer data need one. Laws like the CCPA and GDPR may require it depending on where your customers are located and what data you collect. Review your specific obligations with a legal advisor — Kajabi can’t tell you which laws apply to your business.

Can I update my policies after I publish them?

Yes. Open the page from Website > Landing Pages, edit its content, and save your changes. Keep your published policies up to date with how your business actually collects and uses data — an outdated policy can be as much of a liability as not having one.
