The Affiliate Program utilizes your partnerships to encourage others to sell your course on your behalf while receiving a commission from you in the process. Learn to maximize your revenue with the Affiliate Program.

Note:
The Affiliate Program is only available with the Growth and Pro Plans. Check out kajabi.com/pricing for more details.

In this article:

How the Affiliate Program Works

The Affiliate Program functions similarly to the Kajabi Partner Program

However, unlike the Kajabi Partner Program, your Affiliates do not need to be customers of your site to join as an Affiliate to start selling for you.

This allows you to have an unlimited amount of Affiliates selling your course.

The Affiliate Program helps you:

  • Manage Affiliate Registrations and Accounts,
  • Track Affiliate Conversions and Form Submissions,
  • Automatically calculate Affiliate earnings,
  • Create detailed Affiliate reports.

Set up your Affiliate Program by enabling Affiliate commission for your Offers.

After setting up your Offers, generate Share Links to redirect to any URL, Landing Page, or Checkout Page or create Affiliate Coupons.

Share Links install a cookie onto prospective customers' browsers for 30 days or until the cache is cleared.

The installed cookie allows your Affiliate Marketing System to track views and conversions on your site to automatically calculate and credit Affiliate commission.

The Affiliate User is then credited with a percentage of each sale made through their Share Link. As long as the purchase is made within 30 days on the same browser the Share Link was clicked, the Affiliate will be credited with the transaction.

Affiliate Coupons give your Affiliates a custom coupon code that they can share.

Any customer that uses an Affiliate's personalized coupon code will be credited to that Affiliate, regardless of the presence of a browser cookie.

As an admin, you can create Discounts that will generate personalized coupon codes for each Affiliate.

After setting up your Affiliate Program, enable Affiliate registrations or manually add Affiliates to your Program.

New Affiliates will receive the Affiliate User Welcome email sent by your site containing their Login information to access the Share Links or their personalized Coupon code in their Portal and a link to the Affiliate Login Page.

Learn to edit the automated emails on your site to customize the language according to your brand.

Your Affiliates can then begin marketing your Offers with their Share Link or personalized Coupon code through various marketing channels by simply sharing the link.

It is important to note that the Affiliate Program is designed to help you maximize revenue with the partnerships and relationships you create by tracking your Affiliate transactions.

This design allows you the freedom and the flexibility to pay your Affiliates through your preferred payment methods, empowers you to determine the payment schedule most beneficial to you and your Affiliates, and gives you complete control over your business finances and accounting.

Note:
The Affiliate Program tracks conversions on your site and does not track purchases made through external carts or checkout pages.

Your Affiliate Dashboard

The Affiliate Dashboard shows an overview of how your Affiliates are performing:

  • Clicks: The total number of clicks on all Affiliate Share Links.
  • Form Submissions: The number of opt-ins tracked through your Affiliate Share Links.
  • Conversions: The total number of Offer purchases tracked through all of your Affiliate Share Links.
  • Conversion Rate: Overall conversions divided by overall clicks.

Below the Affiliate statistics, you will find your Affiliate Sign up Link and Affiliate Login Link. Read How to Create a Custom Affiliate Signup Page to customize your Affiliate's experience on your site.

Read the Affiliate Report to gain more insight into your Affiliate's performance.

Settings

The Affiliate Settings located in the top menu of your Affiliate Dashboard allow you to enable or disable new Affiliate registrations and customize the Affiliate Onboarding process.

The Enable registrations must be toggled on to allow people to sign up as an Affiliate on your site:

Commission Setup

Setup your commission percentage for each Offer to credit to your Affiliate(s) when the Offer is purchased with their unique Share Link or personalized Coupon Code:

Transactions

The Transactions section in your Affiliate dashboard will display all transactions credited to your Affiliate Users:

Affiliates are also credited for setup fees. Any setup fee in a subscription will now be tracked in the Affiliate system.

Additionally, if you choose to give an Affiliate commission for a Subscription, the commission is set for the lifetime of that customer's subscription.

If you have set up a Commission Override Percentage, it is important to note that you may see a different Commission Override Percentage for individual transactions attributed to the same Affiliate. Because the Override Percentage can be adjusted, the transactions will reflect whatever percentage was in place at the time the specific transaction took place.

With this in mind, you may notice differences in your Affiliate Transactions compared to the Affiliate Report. This is due to the Affiliate Report displaying the Override Percentage for the most recent transaction credited to the Affiliate within the timeframe selected.

Note:
If a purchase with an Affiliate link results in a refund, the commission credited to the Affiliate will account for the refund by displaying a $0.00 commission credit. Partial refunds are not reported as a partial amount in an Affiliate commission. Commission for a partial refund will reflect the same commission amount as a full refund.

Share links

A Share Link is simply a URL that can lead to any site or page (even a site outside Kajabi).

When a user clicks on a Share Link a cookie is placed in their browser for 30 days. This cookie will track the user's habits on your site and attribute any profit generated from that user to the appropriate Affiliate.

Keep in mind that although you can track the clicks for specific share links, there is no way to determine which Affiliate Link was used by a specific customer or the Affiliate credited.

Create Share Links that lead to any URL, Landing Page, or Checkout Page. As long as the user completes a purchase of an Offer on Kajabi using the same browser where they originally clicked the Share Link, the sale will be credited to the Affiliate User.

Truncating an Affiliate Share link by using tools like the Bitly URL shortener will still credit the Affiliate for the conversion.

Affiliate coupons

Unlike Share Links, when an Affiliate coupon code is used to purchase an Offer from your site, the Affiliate will be credited with the transaction regardless of the presence of a browser cookie.

As an admin, you can create Discounts that will generate personalized coupon codes for each Affiliate.

This gives your Affiliates the freedom to market your content and encourage their audience to purchase from you with their personalized coupon codes.

Note:
Affiliates will only be credited if you set the Affiliate percentage in the Offer. Learn to set up your Affiliate Commission in the After Purchase settings of your Offer.

Announcements

Exports

Export your Affiliate Reports in the Export section of your Affiliate Dashboard. Use these reports to determine how much to pay out to each Affiliate.

Your exported Affiliate Report(s) will be emailed to the email address associated with your Kajabi account.

Note:
Exporting this report will notify the owner of the Kajabi account if the owner has selected to receive notifications data is exported from their account. Learn to update email notification settings.

Affiliate Portal

After an Affiliate is added to your site by registering or by manually adding an Affiliate, they will receive an Affiliate User Welcome email containing the Login credentials and link to access their Affiliate Portal.

The Affiliate Portal allows your Affiliates to:

  • View their Stats.
  • Access their Public Share Links or their Personalized Coupon Code.
  • Export their Purchase Summary Report.
  • Change their Settings to update their Profile, email preferences, and change their Password.
