How to Give Access to Your Product on a Specific Date

Allowing members to have access to your content on a specific date is great for launches and preselling. Follow this guide to learn how to configure your Offer to give access to your Product(s) on a specific date.

Product access

The Product access settings available in your Offer editor allow you to set up carefully crafted Offer experiences. 

Use this tool to build urgency and engagement around your Offers, design exclusive Memberships only available during a specific time period, or simply set up a specified start date and end date for Members that purchase your Offer. 

Keep in mind, changing the Product access date will impact future purchases only. If you choose to change the Product access date, Members that have purchased the Offer prior to your update will not be affected by the change. 


Set up your begin access date

With the "Begin access at a specific date" setting, customize your Product Access to allow access to the Product(s) included with your Offer on a specific date.

This is a great way to create a unified Product experience so that all Member(s) purchasing your Offer begin on the same date. 

Note:
Begin access at a specific date does not apply to the Community Product. If your Offer includes a Community Product, the Member will gain access to the Community upon purchase.  

To begin access to your Product(s), with the exception of the Community Product, on a specific date:

  • Open the Sales tab from your Dashboard.
  • Then, click Offers.
  • Select the Offer you want to edit or create a new one.
  • Scroll to the Product Access Panel.
  • Select the Begin access at a specific date option and choose a specific date on the calendar.
  • Remember to click Save to keep your changes:

Note:
Your customers are charged immediately upon purchase. Offer members will have access to published content on the date specified, and dripped categories will be available on each following day. If members Purchase an Offer after the Product Access date, they will have immediate access to all content released from the start of the Access Date to their purchase date.

Restrict access date

To restrict Product access to a specific amount of days click the checkbox for Restrict access to a specific amount of days in the Product Access Panel. Learn more

Member(s) will have access to the Product until your specified number of days from the Member start date.

Consequently, this may affect dripped content. Be sure to configure your restrict access settings to give appropriate time for your Member(s) to access any dripped content in your Product(s).

Can I enable both settings in Product Access?

Yes, configuring both the Begin access setting and Restrict access setting will give Product access to your Member(s) for your specified number of days starting from the Begin access date. 

For example, if you choose to begin access on April 1st and restrict access to 14 days your Member(s) will have access to the Product(s) from April 1st to April 15th.

Tip:
Allow access to all Members during a certain time period as a promotion (e.g., January - March) by configuring both the Begin access setting and the Restrict access setting.
