Overview
Your checkout page includes options for customers to opt in to email marketing and save their payment information for future purchases. Configuring these settings correctly helps you grow your email list while respecting customer privacy and complying with data protection regulations.
Control your customers’ ability to subscribe to your marketing emails when purchasing your Offer(s).
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- In the Email Opt-in section, under Enable email list opt-in, choose between:
- Unchecked opt-in box (Recommended): Customers can choose to subscribe to your email list during their Offer purchase by checking an opt-in box at checkout.
- Pre-checked opt-in box: The opt-in checkbox is selected by default at checkout and customers can choose to uncheck this option.
- Disabled: The opt-in checkbox will be hidden at checkout and customers will not be subscribed to your email list.
- Click Save
Warning: Depending on your location and where your customers are located, you may be required to use unchecked opt-in boxes by default. Review GDPR, CAN-SPAM, and other applicable privacy regulations to ensure your opt-in settings are compliant.
Allow customers to save their payment information for faster future purchases.
- Go to Settings > Checkout
- In the Card Storage Opt-in section, choose between:
- Opted-out by default (Recommended): Customers can choose to store their credit card information on your site by selecting the opt-in checkbox. If the customer does not select the checkbox to opt-in, their financial information will not be stored on your site.
- Opted-in by default: The opt-in checkbox will be pre-selected during checkout. This setting will store your customer’s financial information on your site by default. Your customer must deselect the checkbox to opt-out.
- Disabled: The opt-in checkbox will be hidden and your customers cannot store their financial information when purchasing a one-time payment Offer.
- Click Save
Warning: When enabling card storage, ensure you have appropriate privacy policies in place that disclose how customer payment information is stored and protected. This helps maintain customer trust and regulatory compliance.
